According to Lazlo's Unofficial Discography, the album suffered at least three different shuffling of the tracks, including dumping some and adding others. I'd like to build a "complete" copy of the album, including She Blinded Me With Science, One Of Our Submarines, Lepzig, The Wreck Of The Fairchild, and Urges. My question to the list is: what order would you put the 13 tracks which have been part of TGAoW's history? In particular, has Thomas Dolby ever expressed his desired sequencing of the tracks, if all were to be included? Obviously this is a matter of opinion... I tried a "scientific" method to lay out the tracks and am not sure I like the order. How do you think the album should play? She Blinded Me With Science (U.S. mix) Flying North (possibly extended mix) Weightless Europa And The Pirate Twins (possibly extended mix) Commercial Breakup Windpower (possibly extended mix) Lepzig The Wreck Of The Fairchild Urges One Of Our Submarines (possibly extended mix) Airwaves (full version) Radio Silence ("rock" version) Cloudburst On Shingle Street Thanks in advance for your input, Gene Savage Tulsa, Oklahoma USA ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 11 Sep 2002 14:56:27 -0700 From: "Crackers" Subject: Alloy: Can anyone read this? Found a little something in my ref-stats for my webpage. Followed the link and it seems to be something mentioning my comic strip and Sexy Losers but I have no idea what it says. Can anyone here on Alloy read this? I have no idea what language it even is. Bablefish didn't seem to help much. Perverssejd webbisarjakuvia kieroutuneille ihmisille: Sexylosers (On se niin mukavaa kun voi samaistua johonkin.) Ghastly (Svpvjd lonkeromonstereita.) Ndmd ovat kaksi ehdotonta suosikkiani. Suosittelen lukemaan molemmat aivan alusta ldhtien, silld ne ovat juonellisesti etenevid (itseasiassa niissd etenee moniakin juonia pddllekkdin). Molemmat pdivittyvdt enemmdn tai vdhemmdn sddnnvllisesti noin kerrran viikossa. In other news... my readership has increased quite dramatically. Three weeks ago it increased from over 7 thousand to over 8 thousand weekly readers. Two weeks ago from over 8 thousand to 9 thousand. Last week the readership increased to over 10 thousand weekly readers! Woohoo! I'm getting closer to being able to run with the big boys. Opened myself a store and now I'm flogging Ghastly's Ghastly Merchandise. Been experimenting lately with non-computer art techiques. One of the coolest things I've bought are these watercolour paint pencils. They're like pencil crayons but you run a wet brush over them after you draw and they turn into water colour paint. Really cool stuff. Pastels is another medium I'm interested in exploring more. There's something very exciting about working with non-computer graphic material. I guess it's like the difference between playing an accoustic instrument like a piano or an accordion and playing a synthesizer. They're both very fun to play, both very creative tools, but you get a different "feeling" when you play an instrument of wood and metal and leather than you do from one of plastic and microchips.
