Yes, definately... and they can stop wasting time and effort on petty things like the drug problem, organised crime syndicates, murder gangs and sexual predators. Maybe they should use some of the money wasted on protecting the US from the minor threat of terrorist attacks to help Lars Ulrich keep up with his bar-tabs. - -- PRAEst76 http://www.cancellation.freeserve.co.uk/praest76/ np: Juno Reactor - Pistolero (radio edit).mp3 ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 11 Aug 2002 04:19:14 -0700 From: Robyn Moore Subject: Re: Alloy: Re: ring tones At 08:25 AM 09/08/2002, you appeared to say: >Traffic patterns changed again today in downtown DC. Amazingly enough, I don't have a cell phone yet. I plan on fixing that in the reasonably near future, though. If I did, it'd be an awfully tough choice... Hyperactive? Any of a couple dozen tv show themes (Good Eats, Twilight Zone, Jonathan Creek, Love Hina, etc.)? He was in an episode of the slightly iffy new BBC spy series 'Spooks' ("It's MI5, not 9 to 5") Which wasn't bad. He got to be a bit dangerous in that which was kinda exciting, the resat of the series was a bit unceretain. I didn't knwo if it was supposed to be a soap or an action show. BTW has people here heard his redition of Sweet Transvestite? There are even photos of him in the show online. So, of course, some congresspersons have decided the best way to deal with the situation is to fight fire with fire. http://news.com.com/2100-1023-945923.html?tag=fd_lede Basically, some congressmen have gotten together and presented a bill allowing copyright holders to engage in hostile electronic hacking if they have a "reasonable basis" to believe piracy is taking place, while limiting the general public's right to sue or press for damages if they're victimized by it. Neat, eh? Incidentally, the above link was found at Janis Ian's website, where she has a pair of articles which a) show her disagreement with the industry's pious mouthings about how everything they're doing is "for the artists", and b) outline plans and suggestions for how the record companies can "get with the times", as it were. http://www.janisian.com - The articles in question are linked on the front page - "The Internet Debacle - an alternative view" and "FALLOUT - a follow up to The Internet Debacle". She also has downloadable MP3s available. This is the problem, the world is changing, they aren't. The whole music biz has to be rethought to think of this... sadly that's too much time and effort for many so what they are doing is just getting medaeval to secure their 'property'. Kinda makes me want to stop buying recorded music altogether in protest and just support live music. > http://www.janisian.com - The articles in question are linked on > the front page - "The Internet Debacle - an alternative view" and > "FALLOUT - a follow up to The Internet Debacle".
