That's unfortunate. The sound quality of that album is exceptional, as is. But a multi-channel remix would be stunning, and I would pay big bucks for it. The sound on the Blue Man Group DVD (entitled "Audio"), with 5.1 surround sound, is an awesome example. Now during 2001 we all complained & moaned about the lack of releases by Thomas Dolby - and we were rewarded with the '40' cd - well i think we should moan & moan, demanding a rerelease of the 'Golden age of Video' with the above 3 videos included . Many people havent seen these especially silk pyjamas - & yet i thought this was a lovely tune especially for summer time -- but then again it was released as a single in the uk on September 14th, well its not usually that sunny at that time of year over here -- 'great timing Virgin records'. Finally - hurrah another addition to my collection - a vinyl LP of the Bruce Woolley & Camera Club from the US (via Holland ), this was released a year after the UK version with a different sleeve & also one of the tracks is different. 'Im still pushing this album anyone who hasnt heard Thomas keyboard playing on this LP should - i think its a must - remember it is available on cd - for those of you who dont have good old turntables, plus the great photos of Thomas aged approx 21yrs. Anyway - back to the tv - Mary Ingle is going blind again on 'Little House on the Prairie'. Cheers Paul. - ---- Original Message ----- From: Mary A. Robin suggested I send this link to y'all. It's slap your forehead time: True story from the Washington Post: Here's a vignette we're dying to see on the ABC broadcast of Sunday's Ford's Theatre Presidential Gala: When Stevie Wonder sat down at the keyboard center stage, President Bush in the front row got very excited. He smiled and started waving at Wonder, who understandably did not respond. After a moment Bush realized his mistake and slowly dropped the errant hand back to his lap. "I know I shouldn't have," a witness told us yesterday, "but I started laughing." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A45517-2002Mar6.html And if you wonder where the subject line comes from, it's one of my favorite fake commercials (circa 1983) from Saturday Night Live, goofing on Canon's then famous tv commercial: http://snltranscripts.jt.org/scripts/82skannon.phtml - -- Melissa R. Man, a DVD rerelease of "GAOV" would be so freaking cool! Hell, I'd dress up like Brenda O'Leary's little sister for my next show for a copy of "GAOV" on DVD. Hopefully, all the masters for those videos aren't lost in a forgotten EMI vault somewhere, slowly decaying... But rather than see TGAoV rereleased as it is, I'd prefer to see each video get a track of its own, without those annoying transitions between videos.
