Glad you could join us. Also a nice surprise to see someone from my neck o' the woods here - well, used to live in Adelaide but these days it's Brisbane - soon to be Melbourne, Adelaide again, or NZ methinks, but I digress... > The question: It's a long shot, but does anyone know exactly which > tracks on "Forty" make use of an EWI (and for bonus points, what > make/model EWI was it)? Forgive my ignorance (these guys frequently do :-) but I've got to ask, what is an EWI? Elk With Intuition? Ewok With Intelligence? (seriously guessing now) Electronic Wind Instrument? cheers, Paul. Can I just add that I also have never heard of the EWI before - still thats saying nothing im still trying to find out what DVD & Laserdiscs are.Must admit most of the conversations on this site lose me as soon as it gets technical. Now Thomas Dolby music I do know - and would just like to state what a great man our Jonathan is in Finland - hes assisted me in getting hold of a copy of 'From Brussels With Love ' with that great version of Airwaves - (with a few lyrics different,i believe). Thanks for your help Jonathan. Ive also finally got hold of the first Fallout Club 7" (now got all 3), and a copy of Year 2000 by jane Kennaway (co written by Thomas). However on the bad news front - got ripped off by one record firm - thought id got hold of a vinyl Thomas Dolby interview -- but it wasnt ( he says one line) - still win some , lose some - but im not telling the wife - so please keep this hush, hush. Finally i was perusing the website for Dave Stewart & Barbara Gaskin yesterday - - when it explain their reasons for the cover version of Leipzig - mentions how they used to play football (soccer) with Thomas ( that might stur some nice thoughts for the ladies out their of Thomas in shorts - & maybe someone of the men as well) - also mentions that they then wrote a further tune based on the characters - in the song.Which leads to a question -?? I always thought Thomas said Henry, James & Leonard - on looking at the lyrics on the back of the Urges single -- he says 'Jane' not 'James' - hmmmm. Anyway ill stop wittering now - & actually go out for a walk - because believe it or not 'The Skies are Blue & Sunny' here in England.
