Reading your message just boils my blood!!! (ok, calm down, breathe, deep breath)... I feel for you man. Seems like, no matter where you go, someone is trying to stomp you. I get sick and tired of it. And worse yet, the laws are written by lawyers who get paid with dirty money to protect those who have money. There's no justice in it! And principals, forget it. None of the big guys (companies, laywers, politicians, judges, etc.) understand principals, which to me are far more important than laws. It doesn't benefit them, the greedy &*#$Y@. ps. hope I didn't offend anyone here. - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Crackers" To: Sent: Thursday, February 07, 2002 3:09 AM Subject: Alloy: I'm being sued... yet again! > > Jesus fucking christ! I use Qwest as my DSL provider and recenlty they forced all the Qwest.net users over to MSN. I had to get a new MSN account name a new email address with it. I had no plans to use the email address since I have a 3rd party email address Keith@Stansell.com that looks nice on a resume. I installed the MSN software and had 4 spam messages the first time my email program logged in to get messages. I complained to MSN and they said, oh that could happen if you pass your email address on third party web sites and such. I tried to explain that I never ever ever used that email address anywhere, in fact, I wasn't even sure what it was. They just couldn't understand why I was so mad at them. I tried to explain that I thought they had a security breach ect, but they didn't seem to care. I get more spam on that email address (now starting to get some porn spam even) than I do on this address which I've had for almost 4 years. I do have a free "spam collector" email address that I use when signing up on web sites. Damn MSN. I say, always use a 3rd party email address, never one associated to your internet provider. My poor brother went from using ATT to ATT's excite@home and then to whatever they use now and evey time I turn around his email address is changing. If I didn't use a 3rd party, my email address would have changed from USWest.net to Qwest.net to MSN.com and that is all with the same ISP. - -Keith - ----- Original Message ----- From: "jamac" To: Sent: Friday, February 08, 2002 1:01 AM Subject: Re: Alloy: Bunch of freaking Yahoos. > > Crackers wrote: > > > It seems that Yahoo.com has become nothing but a source of spam. Hi all, after posting my CDBaby tale-of-woe yesterday I realised that I have given an overly harsh opinion of them. The problems with customs and so on were an honest mistake and CDbaby have been quite prolific with their apologies. They have done everything within their powers to make amends and I am quite happy with the result. We were all enthusing about their terrific service and apart from the numbering glitch that service is still of very high quality. I have just received another order from them and everything went fine. I certainly won't hold any grudges over this. The services they are providing to musicians and music lovers alike should be applauded. Sorry for the moaning mail of yesterday. Everyone has an off-day now and again. (aint that the truth...) If anyone is looking for some nicely priced aural stimulation this is another one I found particularly fine. http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/constantflux A few words just sprang to mind! it cost me ten dollars and in thirty seconds it's so clear and I adhere - I'm only humanoid That fit pretty well for this time of the morning! I set up a Hotmail account and told absolutely no one about it, then started saving the spam that flowed into it. Other than the email that was caught by Hotmail's spam "filter" (which leaks like, well, like a sieve), I've collected almost 300 spams in a couple of months. Clearly, Microsoft has little concern about stopping spam. It almost seems as if they actively publish their users' addresses for spammers! There is a way to take advantage of TMDA's features without installing it yourself--set up an account at www.myprivacy.ca. They will filter your email for you with TMDA and forward only the confirmed mail to your regular email account.
