Thanks a lot! That was very interesting.. just think.. yes.. I'm parting out my old synth! Well.. I'd rather keep it intact actually. So, I see that they used to be made right here in Santa Monica.. so that's my first step to see if they are still there and it might be repairable at a small cost. If not.. or if it will cost a bundle to repair.. then I may indeed consider what it might be worth for parts. Or else try and find someone who would like to fiddle with it. I did find a couple of them on E-bay and found a couple user reviews on Synth Site. They were selling from between $700 and $1000! And the reviews are good.. saying it was one of the better sounds from an old synth. So.. I am now more interested in salvaging it.. if it can be salvaged. I'll keep you updated as to the results. Thanks again.. and ciao for now.. Mark ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 14 Jan 2002 10:14:39 -0500 From: Robin Thurlow Subject: Re: Alloy: Forty Plus "Mary A. Thomas provided me with his self-portrait, and gave me the layout he wanted. I did the background, chose the typefaces/color, and re-did the color and lighting on the portrait to play up his good features (ie., all of them). It was great fun to do, and even more fun to be dragged out of bed at 4:30am by Thomas on deadline day :) I've done lots of photo work but never had anything that was meant for mass production through a print shop, so I'm excited to see the actual, printed result! I've been extremely short on cash & haven't been able to order it yet. PLEASE tell me his thighs look okay... xxx ~R ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 14 Jan 2002 23:30:38 +0000 From: Slarvibarglhee Subject: Re: Alloy: Forty Plus Robin Thurlow wrote: > > It was great fun to do, and even more fun to be dragged out of > bed at 4:30am by Thomas on deadline day :) > Would you like to rephrase that, young lady?
