The site is http://www.prepal.com But it only gives the average prices for working equipment. Broken gear is a different story. Depending on what exactly is broken that determines what exactly it is worth. If it's repairable broken then it's worth the price of a new keyboard minus the price of the parts and labour to repair it. If it's not repairable then it's only worth what someone will pay for it as parts. It could be worth a nice sum if the discontinued analogue synth chips inside it are still functional (infact, it's ironic that my Ensoniq Mirage would be worth more money stripped and sold off for parts ($30-$40 for each of the CEM analogue filter chips of which there are 8) than it is as a complete, mint condition, functioning sampler (only worth about $100-$200). If it's the analogue chips that are dead then it's only value is perhaps the chassis and the keys which isn't much at all. Do you have any idea what is wrong with it? Unfortunately the OB-1 isn't listed on PrePal which means nobody has sold one yet on a synth.marketplace newsgroup or on E-bay. You might be able to get an idea of the price through a Google search for "Oberheim OB-1 price". Although you'll probably get a slightly inflated price that way because you'll be mostly getting retail dealers hits and not private sales (which are usually less than retail resale prices for a number of reasons). Good Luck! Crackers (Will do a search after I get back from Lord Of The Rings from hell!!!) Ghastly's Ghastly Comic - http://ghastly.keenspace.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 Jan 2002 20:55:58 -0500 From: Mike Connell Subject: Alloy: Announcing a new list for music from the 50s, 60s & 70s! Hi folks :-) My name is Mike, and I own/run a number of lists here at smoe.org, most notedly the Jewel, Patty Griffin & Tiny Tim lists. A few of us had tossed this idea around for over a year, and I finally decided to make it happen.....a list devoted to the discussion of the many evolving genres of music from the 1950s, 1960s and the 1970s. (yeah...I know...I guess this has to include disco too......oh well....so much for a "perfect list") I know there's a rather decent number of "baby boomers" on many smoe lists, so to them this will be a welcome addition. For others who did not grow up during the 50s, 60s or 70s, this list could be a very good learning tool that can turn you on to some of the best and most influential music of those eras, which is also some of the best and most infuential of all time. So, if you want to learn, or want to discuss any music genre or artist/group from those decades, please join us. As far as I am concerned, you can discuss ANY music from those eras: pop/top 40, rock & roll, folk, new age, jazz, broadway musicals, R&B...you name it...and yes....... I guess disco too. This list, like most others on smoe.org comes in loose mail and digest formats and you are welcome to join to either one or both. So, to join up on the loose-mail version of this list, send an email with the following two-line command subscribe 50s60s70s end in the body of an email to majordomo@smoe.org To join the digest version of the list, send the two-line command subscribe 50s60s70s-digest end in the body of an email to majordomo@smoe.org Hope to see many of you there real soon! Born the year "Rock Around The Closk" was the number 1 record in the USA, Mike Connell :-) 50s60s70s list owner ducksoup@quackquack.net mikec@smoe.org P.S. I was just joking about the Tiny Tim list. :-) ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 Jan 2002 22:10:07 -0500 From: "Chris & Beena Cracknell" Subject: Re: Alloy: Bishounen Science Master Thomas Dolby - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris & Beena Cracknell" > Anyways, then I got to thinking about Thomas's new album and all and I > thought. Okee dokee, little searching on Google. A working OB-1 in good condition will fetch you anywhere between $300 to $350 US . Not all that much in terms of what some of the other Obies will get but a pretty nice price none the less. You might want to look into getting it fixed. It seems to be a pretty cool little analogue monosynth from what I've been reading. Crackers (Warm up the soldering irons from hell!!!)
