I was on one side of the building when i heard a tune , id never heard it before but thought - hmm thats sounds like something Thomas would do, i followed it across the room , asked the stall bloke , and there it was Build me a Bridge 12 ", I quite scared myself ( cue for a song) . This year is getting quite exciting already for my record collection -- ive just purchase another rare Bruce woolley single - under the group title of 'Fallen Angel & the TC Band' from 1977, ive also got on order - 2 albums featuring Thomas both on CD - one being the third album by Robin Scott or better known as 'M' of 'Pop Music' fame , and also the 'Girls at our Best' compilation cd which features both Thomas & also Rod Johnson (the drummer from the Camera Club). Also today ive ordered , though it depends if it turns up - the Year 2000 single written by Thomas for Jane Kennaway from 'The Fallout Club' ive been after that for years. My Thomas collection is almost nearing completion -- just need the Airwaves track issued by Crepuscule , and the 3rd Fallout Club 7" , still its only taken me 20 years. Fortunately Thomas has of course issued his new CD , mine has been posted , but not yet arrived - boo hoo - must admit what a fantastic record shop - their e-mails have been so friendly & funny as well Hope everyone is well, Cheers Paul From: Paulo To: Alloy Sent: Tuesday, January 08, 2002 11:51 PM Subject: Alloy: Adele Bertei > > Hello everybody at Alloy: > > After a long time searching, I've found the 12" BUILD ME A BRIDGE by artist > ADELE BERTEI. Ah, Robin, funny you should ask, as I was about to start up the friendly "who got the lowest number" game myself... :) My disks just arrived this morning, and my lowest numbered disk is... 182. Do I hear 181? 181? Going once... Surely, you'll receive the lowest of us all, Ms. "Cover Art by" Robin Thurlow. :) (Congrats to you and Dave!) I particularly enjoyed the commentary he made between the songs, especially the bits about his mum expecting he'd be settled down by his 40th, and how he picked the "nicest girl in the world". I also liked some of the updated riffs he put in the tunes - really made me wish he'd do an all-new disc soon. >One question to those of you who've ordered the signed and numbered copies... >which numbers did you get? Wow, a very low number! And your *disc* is autographed too? None of mine were, but then there's the chance that the ink could eat its way through the disc and damage the aluminum layer, so I don't mind.
