It's scheduled for 3am EST/PST Friday Night/Saturday Morning (Oct 6) . They only show this one once or twice a year, so it'll be a while before it comes around again. I'll probably stay up to force record it, since it ends as the repeat of tomorrow night's Night Gallery (remastered, uncut) episode starts on The Mystery Channel. I could make it available for download if anyone is interested (provided I don't goof up and miss it). FYI - On the Tivo, you can make "wishlist" that are automatically recorded based on keywords. I have one setup for "Dolby" but nothing has been caught so far. I guess this would not be caught since he is not credited as the musical guest. - -Keith - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robyn Moore" To: Sent: Thursday, October 04, 2001 11:54 PM Subject: Alloy: VCR Alert > > For those of you with cable, Comedy Central will be rebroadcasting the > 1985/6 season SNL episode featuring Anjelica Huston and musical guest > George Clinton/Parliament - with a certain uncredited surprise guest > keyboardist. It would probably seem pretty chessy by today's standards, but that show was very imaginative and at times downright scary (for a kid in the 70's at least). I don't get the "Mystery Channel" on my Time Warner cable though. Is anyone else you know of showing it? - - Craig ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 05 Oct 2001 17:17:58 -0400 From: Robin Thurlow Subject: Re: Alloy: VCR Alert Keith Stansell wrote: > > I could make it available for download if anyone is interested (provided I > don't goof up and miss it). It'd be great if you could do this, Keith! Thomas might even like to capture your downloadable version for his records, if he doesn't already have a copy of this performance. > FYI - On the Tivo, you can make "wishlist" that are automatically recorded > based on keywords. There are only a few shows we are following, and this season they're all either on at the same time.. or awkwardly shceduled so that our lame, ancient VCR can't record them both on the same night (it won't change channels). Do you think tivo is a worthwhile investment? Do you like having it? As for us, I figure if we can tape the shows we want, we won't spend money renting any videos, so it might even itself out, budget-wise... xxxx Robin T ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 5 Oct 2001 15:33:40 -0600 From: "Keith Stansell" Subject: Re: Alloy: VCR Alert I love my Tivo. It really changes the way you watch TV. I rarely watch anything live anymore, I just turn the Tivo on and see what it has on the hard drive that I want to see. I no longer tend to vege out in front of the TV surfing the channels, now just watch what I want to watch (or things it records that it thinks that I might like). It is also is good at keeping track of when a show is on when it's time changes. When Survivor was on, it handled the two-hour final show without a hitch. I just set up as a season pass at the start of the season and it never missed a show. I have the kind which is built into a DirecTV satellite receiver. They just sent out a software update that allows it to record two channels at once. That would handle your VCR problem. The Tivo's that hook up to cable can't do that. I'll get that SNL for us! - -Keith - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robin Thurlow" To: Sent: Friday, October 05, 2001 3:17 PM Subject: Re: Alloy: VCR Alert > > Keith Stansell wrote: > > > > > I could make it available for download if anyone is interested (provided I > > don't goof up and miss it). > > It'd be great if you could do this, Keith!
