He was the best since Tim Curry and hasn't been bettered yet. Not only has he got a great singing voice but he looked wonderful in stockings and basque - sex on legs! Having delurked so precipitously perhaps I ought to introduce myself a little more clearly. I am, as you know, Lissu's Mum. My only claim to fame! *grin* Where did I first hear Thomas's music? When a 16year old came back home from her first trip to Finland - and proceeded to drown out every other sound in the house with the music from her room. The other thing I really remember is seeing the video of 'She Blinded Me with Science' on Top of the Pops, with Magnus Pike overacting as he usually did. My favourite song - it has to be 'I Love You, Goodbye' - just wonderful. Having lurked for a long time I do hope you'll forgive me if I just sit quietly in the corner and keep my daughter wondering if Mum is going to embarrass her soon :-)) Pam xxx ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 02 Oct 2001 11:23:48 -0600 From: "Beth Meyer" Subject: Re: Alloy: Postpunk Chronicles etc Hi, folks; With regard to this thread, I just had to recall one of my favorite old "Doonesbury" cartoons. Mike Doonesbury, who at the time is a somewhat geeky college student, is having some of the guys over to watch a football game. Before they arrive, he asks his mom (he still lives at home) to just please not embarass him. Later on, this group of five guys are all sitting around wordlessly watching the TV. All of a sudden, apropos of nothing, Mike's mother shows up and says, "Your mother loves you, Mike." All the guys start giggling and saying "heh, heh, that's sweet" while Mike buries his face in his hands and his mother shoots this sly grin to the reader... Let's hear it for moms! ;-) (Even if I happen to be one myself...) Tony Head has an excellent voice and gave the sexiest performance :-) He is very fanciable. It does make it very difficult, however, to take him seriously in any other role but I do think he does rather well as Giles (have to admit I am a closet Buffy fan) Pam xxx ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 03 Oct 2001 10:24:16 +1000 From: Paul Baily Subject: Re: Alloy: Postpunk Chronicles etc >> Mum,....just no embarrassing stories, alright? > > I could just say - what's it worth? ;-) - I could also let Robin have some > wonderful photos for the gallery! And Spike.....grrrrrrrrrrr! (lustful noise) Like Amber Benson, James Marsters (who plays Spike) is an utter sweetheart. He and Tony Head are big pals, and both have good singing voices....and this is *so* off-topic. Or maybe this will make Thomas amaze us all by admitting he's a massive fan of Angel and has his picture on his bedroom wall...then again, maybe not.... I'd love it if Thomas wrote the "atmosphere" music for Angel. That would work soooo well. I've always thought that even before he started doing soundtracks, Thomas specialised in tiny slices of atmosphere; that's why my favourite songs are Screen Kiss, I live in a suitcase and other songs that give me shivers.
