Just curious. Yes! I mentioned this a few weeks ago but nobody commented so I assumed that I had veered off on one of my weird musical tangents again. She has a great interesting voice and the songs are intelligently done. I must admit that I overloaded at the beginning by playing the album to death for several weeks so I'm taking a short break but the best indicator for me is that I have no idea what she looks like as I bought the album at a gas station and immediately mislaid the box after stuffing the disc in the changer. It's probably found its way to my sons toy box or something. Nice. work... I'm going to be there Monday through Wednesday of next week on business. I don't recall any members being there, but just checking. - -Keith ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 23 Aug 2001 12:21:13 -0400 From: Robin Thurlow Subject: Re: Alloy: Re: Grammy Jam A while back, around Christmastime I think, Thomas had expressed an interest in gathering up a lot of his old 'lost' work... public appearances, tv shows he wrote scores for, going in drag before a live unsuspecting audience :) Speaking of which, how's our progress on finding the evidence? I've had no luck so far, myself. But back to the Grammy Jam... since the Grammy Foundation no longer provides access to past events, prior to 1991 it seems... I doubt it'd be considered offensive to the higher-ups if the performance - or stills of it - were posted to the net, even just briefly. It sounds like a lot of us would love to see this! Also, I should hope that the Grammy folks gave Thomas a copy of this performance, but in case they didn't, he might like to see it too, or possibly snag it for his records. Would getting it onto the internet be a simpler and cheaper option? Plus... aren't there computer programs that will help to restore the appearance and sound of worn videotape? xxx Robin T ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 24 Aug 2001 00:41:41 +0100 From: Chris Good Subject: Alloy: [Fwd: Caroline frequence] Hi All, Forget who wanted to know? In one of his songs he mentions "Caroline 452". Was this their > frequency? If not can you tell the frequencies they were on? I know the song, but I don't think it has anything to do with Radio Caroline. Caroline's frequencies have been many and various over the eyars since 1964. But 963 and 558kHz have been the most used ones in recent history (80's). I think the only chart song that mentions Caroline was Quo's one: 'radio plays on Caroline' is the line in question. HTH! I'd thought it was *this* Friday. I had even had it in mind as something of a reward for tomorrow, after a day of wading through registration... I got my dates wrong obviously. I will definitely be watching tomorrow's/today's episode. Jon, I hope the Zim I missed last week wasn't the latest one you have done music for! Do you get any advance notice when your episode is going to air? also, I'm wondering, what is your connection with Bass Kitten? xxxx Robin T ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V6 #223 ***************************
