When I'm in a more poetic mood I'll try one (maybe one about *you*) I'm not in a poetic mood right now because: > Wonder if Dave Thurlow has 'painters block'? Dave's dad just paid us a visit, and has done everything to discourage us doing anything. i think he'd be happiest if we dug a hole and stayed there. No matter what we're doing, it isn't right, and I'm a bad wife because I don't have a better job (before, I was a bad wife because I was going to college) and Dave should not be trying to become professor and painter, and should become and engineer instead. So... yeah, Dave gets painters' block sometimes. And Robin gets 'daughter-in-law' block. xxx Robin ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 14 Aug 2001 11:43:41 EDT From: CJMark@aol.com Subject: Re: Alloy: bad poetry - you owe it me ....the TMDR Limerick challenge Sorry.. I'm still drowsy.. but here goes.. There once was a young man named Thomas, Whose future was bright, (Nostradamus). His outstanding start, Made "Science" an art, And continues with "Silk Pyjamas". And now.. back to sleep.. I'm trying to build his confidence about it, & the running criticism about how everything we do sucks is not appropriate. I can put up with it normally but this is not the right time. One thing I'll never understand when people say stuff like that (I remember Andy Partridge saying in a recent interview that some of his own family members are *still* asking him when he's going to get a real job, in spite of his being one of the most successful musicians in the world) is... what difference does it make what someone does for a living? Whether you're an engineer or a painter... It's merely a matter of personal desire for the individual to do what one prefers. Anyway there is some tiny fragment of Dolby content in all of this... I'd like to say how much better I felt about things the moment I started playing TFE here at work. Nothing like a beautiful familiar voice to make one feel better. So I'll have to come up with some limericks (my apologies in advance for what you might be plagued with in days to come) xxxxx Robin T ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V6 #214 ***************************
