That was what I was going on about in the previous posting. This was so long ago I simply have no idea where or how to find any trace of it again. I've run all the searches that I could think of and come up with zilch. In the last 5 years I have had several PC's and my bookmark files have been changed accordingly. It is less that 5 years though because that's how long I have been in Finland and it was definitely since I arrived here. Interesting story eh? That would have been a great night-out. Did I dream it? Nah, I remember the review quite well and the person who wrote it definitely spoke of video. The truth is out there on VHS. "The search for truth..." TMDR getss a mention halfway through. The reviewer had had a hard time before this gig and I think this just shows why Thomas should never give up playing and writing. Because out there in the big wide world are people like this guy and you can really tell from this review how much the occaision meant to him. Nice one Thomas for helping make this guys day. Oh - By the way dont worry about the strange sounding URL - its cool. Tim http://www.teenagewildlife.com/Interact/fc/ce/markx2/index.html p.s. I suppose someone should invite this guy to join the list ? - -- Tim Hudson tim_hudson@zdnetonebox.com - email ___________________________________________________________________ To get your own FREE ZDNet Onebox - FREE voicemail, email, and fax, all in one place - sign up today at http://www.zdnetonebox.com ------------------------------ Date: 25 Jul 2001 10:23:51 -0700 From: mde@stanfordalumni.org Subject: Alloy: cool story Thomas! I often pondered about the title of "Europa and the pirate twins". Since TMDR compares himself to an identified female, I deduce that Dolby was reflecting upon his past "liking" of this female and anticipating a future reunion. In order to capture this lost feeling of being "pirate twins", I can understand and relate to this good feeling that Dolby experienced. (Nena also had a song relating to this called "Let me be your pirate"). But I was wondering what Europa meant or symbolized. Any thoughts? 2. Who is the girl at the end of the Airhead vid that is dreesed like Madonna, circa 1983? 3.TDMR created and recorded for his own record label Venice in Peril. What became of this label and how much did it raise for Venice preservation fund? 4. Toward the end of the Field Word vid when TDMR confronts the Japanese vet in an alleyway, he tries to snap a pic of the vet then gets struck sending his camera airborne. It flashes a total of six times yet numerous pictures are raining from the sky on top of a crumpled TMDR. Where did all these pictures come from? 5. Is there really a rain forest called Mulu? If so, where is it? 6. Did TMDR cover any other songs besides I Scare Myself? 7. What is the latest news about TMDR and his current projects? ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V6 #195 ***************************
