All my best to you dear, I hope that all goes well for you and I am confident that you will be fine. "CORE" opens tomorrow and I have a little bit of the Jitters myself. I am leaving in 2 hours to do my first TV interview! It seems as though we have created quite a buzz with the media about this play. We targeted all the right areas to interest them with. They seem really taken by the ideas that we have a visually impaired actor sitting atop a scaffold, or a 17 year old actress who plays a panhandler who is trying to be a prostitute. They also like things like "the music was written over four hours!". Now if we could only get opening night over with so that I might get to that wine and cheese party (trust me... I just want a nice glass of wine right now... my stomach is flippin'!!!) Cheers all and Thanks again to Jon for a new reason to tune in to my email every day. I have finally spent a few hours working on the soundtrack of this programme, editing it by reducing the music down to mere 'tasters' and thus trimming it down to 17:30 running time. I have waved a magic noisegate wand over it, reduced the bandwidth to just over AM radio quality, and managed to get a fairly listenable result with a 40kbps-rate mono mp3 encode. A great many people enjoy them, which is cool, but it just isn't my particular cup of tea. Personally, I love photography (all sorts, but of this type as well) Because it's only a glimpse of something, it employs the imagination a bit better. I also love art and costuming... the human body is so beautiful & there's such variety (which is also very much missing in films!) that decoration, costuming, tattoos etc are all wonderful tributes to the form, as well as a way for the person to express him/herself. Going to clubs (such as Man Ray in Boston, where my friends used to work) and seeing people gorgeously and uniquely dressed is quite breathtaking, sometimes. There was a PH convention, organised by the fans, at a Manchester College hall the day before the gig. They have their own tribute band which plays at these things regularly, though the line up changes almost every time, but PH themselves turned up to share a glass or two, chat, sign any type of memorabilia that was thrust at them AND perform two of their own tracks using the tribute band's kit. Regrettably, I wasn't there myself, which is something I'll always regret, but the gig was the thing I was really interested in. Perhaps it's worth mentioning that Gary Brooker dedicated 'A Salty Dog' to absent friends, particularly BJ Wilson, PH's original drum meister, and Douglas Adams, who was apparently a good friend of the band.
