Yes, hate it I do. > Well, I used to use Eudora because that's what The Department supplied when I was on jolly old Windows 3.1x and upgraded to the Win95 version when we upgraded Windows. And I was using Netscape Navigator for browsing, again because that was what I was given. I was perfectly happy with both, but then The Department decided it wasn't going to pay for my internet account any more, so I tried a couple of freebies, but being obtuse I swapped the clients around a bit. I got a Freeserve account because Dixons were giving away the disk for free, but it used MS Internet Explorer and silly bloody MS Outlook Express ( I think) but I wasn't keen on either (partly because Freeserve wouldn't let you send mail if you were dialing in through a PABX switchboard because it couldn't detect your phone number. Something to do with being able to trace nuisance users, spammers, etc. which seems laudable I suppose), so I tweaked them to use Netscape Navigator and Messenger with my Freeserve account. And I also have a Netscapeonline account which doesn't care whether or not it can detect my phone number, and I use Netscape Messenger as my mail client on that as well, but for browsing from home I tend to use MS Internet Explorer as it seems to be a little faster than Navigator (which also sometimes doesn't like some sites, whereas Explorer seems to be more tolerant, or maybe it's that more sites are written to work with Explorer ... so it goes). But I rarely surf from home because it's too expensive, and I gave up on newgroups a while ago as I decided I needed to get a life, but when I WAS using them I was using Forte Free Agent, which seemed pretty good. Netscape started issuing their 'Communicator' package with mail, browser, newsreader (which I didn't like as much as FreeAgent) and entry level web authoring bundled together, and I was quite happy with v4.6, but then I got an upgrade disk for v4.7 last year which totally screwed my access and didn't impress me with it's 'additional facilities,' so I went back to v4.6, which is what I'm using now and it does the job, but I'd be quite happy to go back to Eudora for the mail. Erm, I don't think that really answers your question. Or maybe it does. You downloads your application and you takes your choice, I reckon, but the Good People of Alloy can be relied on to give good advice. Count up the votes and go with the majority. Hmmm... Eudora looks interesting. Unfortunately it appears to be e-mail only and I'd really like something that is e-mail and newsgroups integrated into one handy little package. But I'll check it out. And in other news... Will be introducing a shemale character into my webcomic sometime next month. Was trying to think of a good name that is decidedly male to name this character. I was kinda gravitating towards naming hir Jeff but then... ... I remembered my running gag about pics of Thomas in drag. *(evil grin)* Hmmmmm.... should I? Or shouldn't I? Of course the downside is if my parents ever stumble upon my webcomic my stepfather will wonder "Why did he name the shemale after me?"
