Hey there Doughboy, > MR. DOLBY, YOU HAVE FAILED TO RELEASE A NEW ALBUM BY THE DEADLINE. AS OF > TODAY, I AM GOING ON HUNGER STRIKE UNTIL YOU RELEASE A NEW ALBUM. Oh dear, one skeletal Doughboy soon arriving. (You may be waiting a very, very long while given that Thomas has moved onto other projects so I do hope you've stocked up on Barley Sugars old chap! :-) So you're telling us you've listened to /everything/ in Thomas' discography!? That's quite an impressive feat given all the collaborations, rareties etc. that many of us are only just finding. Seriously though, Doughboy, when you have a think about it, Thomas /is/ constantly putting out new music, better yet he's even given us mere mortals the means to remix these songs as well. Hours of fun for all ages! For the really adventurous he's provided the means to make your own music in the same way. Take your caps lock key off [ :-) ] and have a good wander around at www.beatnik.com and you'll see what I'm talking about. It's well worth the visit! Oh and something to store away for future reference, we don't actually allow file attachments to be sent to the list. cheers, Paul. Aw shucks, you didn't have to say all that. ;-) Now you and Dave have a jolly relaxing (and well deserved) time in Edinburrrrr! We'll be here waiting for all the delicious stories of your travels when you get back. :-) To the good people of the village Alloy, thanks in advance for putting up with me (again? ) I'll do my best to play listmum with some semblance of the grace, diplomacy and deftness that our lovely listowner, the one and only Robin does. My door is always open should you have any comments or queries. You know where to find me most hours of the day if you want to talk (or yell) about anything off-list: justsomeguy@ozemail.com.au. stay well, Paul. Oooh, Trevor - how about those ones with the chocolate on top and the caramel layer before the biscuit?? Hey, Doughboy! You tried to attach a jpeg of yourself, but Alloy must have bounced it out. Can you put it up somewhere and provide a URL, so we can see you on your hunger strike? I will ask my family and friends to refrain from buying Grands biscuits, Pillsbury crescent rolls, and your rolls of cookie dough until your valiant campaign is over... ;-) Cheers, Melissa Blagg & Norling wrote: > In support of Doughboy I intend to seriously reduce the amount of digestive > biscuits I gobble each day.... > > Trevor..... > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "doughboy" > To: > Sent: Wednesday, May 30, 2001 5:50 AM > Subject: Alloy: Re: Hunger Strike, Day 1. > > > > > MR. I've been around a little too much self-destruction over the years to take starvation or doing harm to onesself very lightly, I'm sorry to say, speaking purely as a fellow Alloyite of course, and not officially as manager in any way. Making tapes still... we'll probably just stay awake until we leave @ 5:15 am. There are still a million things to do it seems. This message is brought to you by a particularly beautiful Kate Bush lyric, from Saxophone off of The Kick Inside: "You'll find me in a Berlin bar, in a corner brooding You know that I go very quiet when I'm listening to you there's something special indeed there's something special indeed... " (dedicated by me to TMDR at this moment of course!) take care guys Robin T who is not presently in Berlin... but I'd hock everything I own to go there to hear him play.
