I think it's a sit-com about the music industry but I haven't watched it. I have Judo this wednesday so I'll have to get my wife to tape it for me. I really don't know anything about the series other than Thomas Dolby is going to be in an episode. Crackers (First I've ever heard of the show too from hell!) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 14 May 2001 09:33:47 -0400 From: Robin Thurlow Subject: Re: Alloy: Big Sound I've found this website: http://www.bigsoundtv.com/ I haven't read through the whole synopses to find Thomas' episode (if this is the right show!!) but... I don't think I get this network on my cable subscription! I'd thought he'd filmed an episode for a VH1 series, so I've been looking there, but "Big Sound" isn't listed on their web site... xxxx Robin T ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 14 May 2001 09:36:36 -0400 From: Robin Thurlow Subject: Re: Alloy: Big Sound ..... yes, I've just seen he's listed in the "guest stars" section @ the link but still have to dig a bit for the synopsis, if it's been published there yet... xxx ~R ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 14 May 2001 18:58:45 +0100 From: "janet latham" Subject: Alloy: tom on tv Firstly I also want to mention the sad death of Douglas Adams - the Hitch Hikers guide was a classic and has left us with so many phrases used widely in conversation . The mention of him having his towel with him - reminded me of my older brother & his friends when they were at school - they went through a phase of never leaving the house with out a towel - be it going to school, shopping or just to hang out with their mates - maybe the Guide does have a lot to answer for ?? Just in regards the mention of Big Sound ? - ive also not heard of it, but will take alook if poss. On the same subject - does anyone else remember (may even have a copy) seeing Tom on a Muppet/Sesame street type programme - he was teaching them how a synth worked - and demonstrated by playing She Blinded me - - also an early episode of the Comic Strip series for those who know it included in the soundtrack , Urban Tribal & Jungle Line (the Low Noise version ) I think so anyway its years since I saw it and we didnt have a video recorder - please confirm for me someone - I think the episode was called Summer School. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 14 May 2001 13:58:44 -0400 From: Robin Thurlow Subject: Alloy: the word on Big Sound Thomas has written in with the following and suggested that I forward it to everyone - here's the word (and now I have to try to figure out how to see this show..!!) :: I'm looking forward to Big Sound getting a screening this Wednesday. It should be in rotation after this, in case anyone misses Weds. I shot it several months ago in Vancouver. It's a sitcom, set in a music manager's office. It's really about the manager and his staff, but every week they have a different cameo from one of his "clients." He has a few clients on his roster that he would really rather not have to look after, but they just don't seem to go away. I'm one. Now I've got a zany idea for a musical TV show about science. I was relatively pleased with how it went--definitely a cut above some of my, um, previous acting roles. :: Robin here again... for those (like me) who can't get this channel, I'll see if there might be tapes of the show available from the network. xxxx Robin T ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V6 #123 ***************************
