Preserves - Made from the fruit and its juices. Jelly - Made from the juice/juices of the fruit. Marmalade - Marmalade has citrus fruit in it. So I suppose there is no such thing as orange jam, because it has to be marmalade. Slarv This missive powered by the interminable 'Schlongo!!!daLUVdrone.' by Charlemagne Palestine on BBC Radio 3 again. I want me money back. Anyone want to enlighten me? I don't know... orange marmalade isn't listed in Gray's Anatomy like everything else was :) I thought if it has bits of rind in it then it's marmalade. Does orange jam have rind?? > ObTD:* Tom Robinson, the singer who did "Glad to be gay" and "War Baby", > told a story that he and Thomas Dolby once made a deal. I think I remember Thomas mentioning the same thing in an interview in the early '80s, so unless he was misquoted it's likely true! xxxx Robin T ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 29 Mar 2001 23:52:47 -0500 From: "Robin" Subject: Alloy: brief news (OT) I wanted to let my fellow Alloy members know that I'm about to become even more pathetic at my correspondence over the next few weeks.. but it's happy news :) Dave and I are involved in a business venture and we're busily getting our things together to sell (it's an art/crafts shop in a great location in beautiful Ithaca NY!) Dave will be printing greeting cards based on his paintings, and I'll be occupied with fiber arts... so over the next few weeks, picture me sitting in front of my TMDR video collection, embroidering exotic symbols and probably stabbing myself a lot when I get distracted, as I invariably do, by the gorgeous Mr Dolby!! I'm very excited about our venture because I've been corresponding with a very talented friend who is also interested in contributing her items to the shop. I have a very good feeling about all of this. I hope everyone here can make it to our grand opening in May! And some even more OT news... even more briefly... another reason I'm excited is because we've just officially purchased our tickets to Britain online, at a ridiculously low rate, so it's all official now!! All that's left is my giant dose of Thorazine (I wish) before getting on the plane each way. Hey, what's the difference between a 747 and a 744? xxxxx Robin T ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V6 #80 **************************
