Glad you enjoyed the Rachel Stamp site! Yeah - we played about four or five dates in LA a couple of years ago but never really followed it up unfortunately. It's a shame because the impression that I got was that it would have been really easy to get a following in the same way we had already in London if we had gone back. I found that the audiences took us much more seriously as musicians over there - something which doesn't seem to be as forthcoming over here in the good ol' UK. Still - I'm sure we'll be back - if everything goes to plan with the next album it should get a US release. I doubt whether our drummer's t-shirt was Dolby related, him being more of a metal-head! (I could insert a vicious anti-drummer type joke involving the band member and the subject of the shirt here but I shall refrain! - surely they can't all be airheads!) I'll ask him where he got it from if ya like. OK - talk to ya later! Hope you enjoyed the MP3s (I can take criticism if you have any!) Love Will ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 20 Mar 2001 11:14:40 -0500 From: Robin Thurlow Subject: Alloy: Permanent home for Dolby rarities, promotional items, collectables Dear fellow Alloy members, I hope you'll be able to help us out! We've been developing an idea of featuring a brand-new section of the FES, devoted entirely to displaying as many of the various rarities, promotional items, and other Dolby-related collectables that have been released over the years. For this to work out well and for there to be as much variety as possible, I hope the many avid collectors at Alloy would be willing to send in scans or photos of items you may own and wish to see displayed in a permanent FES collection! What we want to develop is a sort of Dolby curio cabinet for visitors to browse through; it will be a valuable reference for collectors as well as a fun way for all fans to see the great variety of stuff that's out there. There will be a "contributors list" for those donors who would like a permanent mention, and each item will have its own label, detailing its date of release, as well as its history and significance within the Dolby archives. This will hopefully be cross-referenced with his albums and videos to create a comprehensive timeline. So, all of those who are the proud owners of Hot Sauce bottles, AAMB frisbees, backstage passes to various tours, unusual photo sleeves from around the world, t-shirts, stickers, pinbacks/badges etc, I hope you will consider taking part and making the curio a huge success! I'll be gathering images along with any information you can provide me with concerning the item (where you acquired it, any other interesting facts) at rthurlow@worldshare.net If you can make the images jpg format at around 100dpi, this would be best I think. Anyonw who wants to join in but needs more information about images, scanning, photography, or anything at all, please get in touch. As always, thank you! I welcome your comments and suggestions for making the curio as successful as possible. xxxx Robin T ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V6 #73 **************************
