Omg... I just realized I forgot to call my mom to wish her a happy birthday. Eeep ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 23 Feb 2001 21:25:22 -0500 From: Beth Meyer Subject: Alloy: Aaaargh (OT) Hi, folks; The good news: Joe Jackson is coming to Boulder on April 3, and tickets go on sale tomorrow. The bad news: I will be in Seattle at a conference on April 3. Aiiieee! So Melissa, you'll have to describe the show for me. Fortunately, once I saw him play and sing, but it was fifteen years ago....(extra brownie points to the person who knows which song of his I just alluded to) Life is not going that smoothly in our household. The fact that little Milena (who just turned two last week) and I both got the stomach flu in rapid succession, is not the worst thing we've had to deal with. Plus, Milena's little brother, due to arrive in July, is already causing trouble (constant headaches, heartburn, etc.). Oh...hadn't I mentioned that? I think maybe not. Anyway, I also never saw Rockula, so I fear I may not do so well in the Tommy awards either. And we don't have a DVD player either, just because it seems like such a waste to buy one when we almost never watch TV at all, so we're probably completely out of touch culturally speaking. On the plus side, we are very up on our "Schoolhouse Rock", since Milena recently discovered the videos we had of those and was instantly hooked. Which is why I now go around humming "I'm Just a Bill" or "Naughty Number Nine." (Hey, don't tell me that Bob Dorough wasn't one of the great American songwriters of the 70's!) Also, at least no-one has sent us any giant Limahl heads....:-) Cheers, Beth ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V6 #48 **************************
