If you go to that page, there's also TMDR's "democratization of music" quote and a contest to win autographed posters of the ad with said quote. One person apparently wins a poster each day! Maybe we should pick days so that we all have a better chance :) I'm doing mine today before my boss gets in! I've just written to the Nortel people with these questions, and hopefully they'll get back to me with the answers before 6pm EST tomorrow... I'll let everyone know what I find out. keeping fingers crossed, Robin T ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 06 Feb 2001 17:44:20 -0500 From: Robin Thurlow Subject: Alloy: still no word Still no word from the Nortel folks about whether Thomas' webcast will be available to all. In order to submit a question to the site, I had to fill out all kinds of information on a form, which they said they needed if they were going to read my request. Maybe they took one look at my information (what company are you affiliated with, how many employees etc) and found me too dull to warrent a response! I wouldn't be surprised, I'm not exactly high tech here (she says, peeling polyvinyl acetate out of her hair :) Anyway it'd probably be a good idea if a few more of us asked about the webcast, this would increase our chances of at least one of us finding out before 6pm tomorrow... again, the link to the site is: http://www.nortelnetworks.com/corporate/news/topnews/2001a/nhl_top.html Thanks everyone, Robin T ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 6 Feb 2001 16:16:59 -0700 From: "Keith Stansell" Subject: Re: Alloy: still no word Sure, spam them - I'm sure they'd be happy about working with Thomas then (:-) I suppose we could all just be patient and wait for the webcast tomorrow and see if it works on the slower modems. It will be on-demand so there will be more than one chance to see it. If they are using the latest technology, it should recognize your modem speed and play according to that. By the way - the print ad with Thomas is now available on the Nortel page. - -Keith - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robin Thurlow" To: Sent: Tuesday, February 06, 2001 3:44 PM Subject: Alloy: still no word > > Still no word from the Nortel folks about whether Thomas' webcast will > be available to all. > > In order to submit a question to the site, I had to fill out all kinds > of information on a form, which they said they needed if they were going > to read my request. R. Jordan" Subject: Alloy: OT: Russians and Celine Dion A friend just sent me this hilarious mp3 file of some drunk Russians performing a very, very upbeat version of "My Heart Will Go On", complete with accordion. It's surreal. Crackers, I think as a Canadian and an accordion player, you must hear this. :-) I have managed to catch the stomach flu that has downed FIVE people in my office as of today. I'm getting all caught up on my bad daytime tv viewing. My brain will atrophy before I get back to work... Yours in yuckiness, Melissa - -- Melissa R.
