Thanks Russell! Nice to see Thomas in such an ad. - --- I don't believe I ever shared the following with you... our local commercial radio station has for the last 8 years organised a "picnic in the park" event during the summer, live bands... bring a picnic etc. Last time, the people doing the sound used Airhead to test the system :o) Piccies... http://user.super.net.uk/~robbieg/park2000.html - --- I had the honour (!) of doing the first show of the Millennium on my hospital radio station, by some quirk of the calendar. I just *HAD* to play some TD of course, hehe. - --- I think I've whinged here about my lousy PC before, well it has now surpassed itself. I can no longer write to CDR for some strange reason, so I can't back up any documents I'm working on. And audio matters are further complicated by my favourite MP3 encoder's complete refusal to produce a file without a horrible glitch at the start and swapping the left and right channels! To say "arghhhhhhh" loudly would be an understatement. So now I've got to bring the useless heap of junk in to the office and let the experts install Windows 2000 and sundry other upgrades. They say that'll fix it. I live in hope, LOL b****y computers, *grumble* Still, at least I've discovered LAME does a better job than my now previous favourite (SoloH's MPEG Encoder), in a small fraction of the time, so I guess it was worth it. I may end up with no video capture card but I might get Disk-At-Once CDR writing if all goes to plan. b****y computers, *grumble* Cheers, a little moan always feels better :o) On the plus side, what an ideal opportunity to soup things up with a nice fat hard-disk and perhaps a go-faster processor. I was so mightily unhappy with the thing the other night that the wife is expecting a fix to cost money anyway, *manic laughter* I think I'd better go now, before I end up on a couch somewhere telling someone about my childhood. +AndyJ+ - ---------------------------------------------------------------- Get your free email from AltaVista at http://altavista.iname.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 05 Feb 2001 13:34:03 -0500 From: Robin Thurlow Subject: Alloy: Thomas NHL Webcast from NortelNetworks.com Thomas has asked me to pass along his apologies to everyone who tried to catch his performance @ the NHL game, only to have it drowned out by the announcers. He's directed me to nortelnetworks.com and I found that at this link http://www.nortelnetworks.com/corporate/news/topnews/2001a/nhl_top.html they will be having "on-demand webcast" of Thomas' show available February 7th (that's this Wednesday) at 6pm EST! Thomas - bless you for finding this out for us!! I'm so thrilled that *all* Alloy members will have the chance to see the performance thanks to the Internet broadcast (and I'll get a second chance at it too... you can bet I won't be passed out feverishly on the couch this time :) xxxxxx Robin T ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 05 Feb 2001 17:26:35 -0500 From: "M. Truth be told, had I not been feeling so dreadful, I would have enjoyed the game, just for the game - I loved going to hockey games in Moscow. It's too pricey here, though - hockey's better live, in person, like most things. Kril'ya sovyetov! Ura! :-) Cheers, Melissa - -- Melissa R.
