Looks like Fever Pitch VHS is up for bid on eBay... http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1405050275 Good luck to all who bid on this gem (well, if you close your eyes & just listen to it it's a gem anyway) Robin T ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 23 Jan 2001 15:41:56 -0500 From: Robin Thurlow Subject: Alloy: strange Dolby reference While scanning around for any coverage of the MidemNet conference (hoping to find reference to Thomas' appearance there... you never know!) one of my searches snagged this for me: http://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/0,,58-59449,00.html from the London Times, December 29th. Check out question #2. I have no idea what they're talking about, except that maybe it has something to do with Oxford University (?) Also, what is a "public school" in England - someone told me it's the same as a "private school" in the US (??) feeling like I'm not making much sense today, Robin T ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 23 Jan 2001 22:53:27 -0500 From: "Melissa R. Jordan" Subject: Re: Alloy: strange Dolby reference Funny you mention this, Robin, as yesterday, I had two strange Dolby references hit me while I was channel surfing. I just got digital cable, and, for all the pay channels, even though I don't have them, I still can stop on the channel and see a listing for what they show. Flipping past Showtime, I found they were showing "Rockula." I'll be damned - there's Thomas Dolby listed on my screen. Scooting a few channels up to Flix (a channel I *do* get), I find a 1973 film called, "Don't Look Now" featuring waaaay too much naked Donald Sutherland. Waaaay too much. Strangely fascinated, I watched (like a train wreck.) As the naked scene faded away, we see Sutherland walking with Julie Christie down some Italian street, with construction in the background. Lo and behold, in the middle of much Italian writing, what is in English on a sign in huge red letters but "VENICE IN PERIL." :-) Too cool! Gotta stop writing. I sprained/twisted/whatever my arm on Friday night, and I stink at one-handed typing... Cheers - and happy lunar new year! I'm a Snake (1965), so tomorrow is the start of my year!!! - - Melissa Robin Thurlow wrote: > While scanning around for any coverage of the MidemNet conference > (hoping to find reference to Thomas' appearance there... you never > know!) one of my searches snagged this for me: > > http://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/0,,58-59449,00.html > > from the London Times, December 29th.
