[Robb & Tara Subject: Alloy: Re: alloy-digest V5 #306, Mr. Dolby's xmas gift. See what I get? I'm trying reeeeeaaallllllyyy hard not to be upset right now. I took a vacation starting on Dec. 20, for a week. Then my wife weedled me into a promise of not using the computer for the whole holiday season, and a week thereafter. I did her one better, and went 3 extra days, for good measure. Then came the onslaught of 125, yes, 125 email messages (surprisingly, few were junk email). As I started to patiently read first the ones from friends, then onto the other ones (mac stuff, ebay account status), then on to the fun stuff. DGM newsletters (Robert Fripp's thing) and alloy issues. Then I see I coulda had a nifty belated present, a treasure in itself, Mr. Dolby's own personal bootleg, per se. Sigh. I'm REALLY trying to enjoy Christmas. Sigh. Anyone wanna see if my email account will go past 10 megs (which they claim is the limit), feel free to throw me the file, since it is no longer active. Thanks in advance! And, well, thank you in spirit, Mr. D. The expression of the gift was well enough for me. ~robb ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 11 Jan 2001 00:40:17 -0500 From: Robin Thurlow Subject: Re: Alloy: Re: alloy-digest V5 #306, Mr. Dolby's xmas gift. Robb, please don't worry... Thomas is making arrangements to have the FTP site reposted for those who missed it, and for those who can't download the file because of technical limitations he's making even more arrangements. He would prefer if the file weren't sent around. I'm maintaining a list of people who missed hearing Fever Pitch and will be in touch with you as soon as I hear back from him on what the next step will be. Thanks!! In the Members Only area there is footage of four songs from the Roseland Ballroom show of 6/19/00 including Thomas' performance of "Heroes" with David. It sounds fantastic, with Thomas contributing his own undeniable touch to it on keyboard and joining in on vocals as well. There are several great long shots of them on stage and a good close up or two of Thomas - so go as quickly as you can & enjoy yourselves! xxxxx Robin T ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V6 #8 *************************
