Hi, I was just playing the MP3, and a Morroccan Collegue of mine said "Oh - La Boum "!!! This was after about ten seconds of the start of the MP3 file. I said "What?!!" She said - "I know this music - Its "La Boum" - "Sophie Morceau" SO we had a discusion about how Boum was spelt [ like that apparently in French] and then I told her that the film was called 'Fever Pitch' in English!! Which I think meant absolutely nothing to her. She speaks English quite well but her French and Morroccan are better. Then sudenly I remembered Thomas saying the producer had asked what all the banging noise was about ! It then occurred to me hey - this is really wild - maybe the producer had a say in what the film was called in its French version? So maybe - -just maybe - Thomas and his banging noises actually influenced the Title of the French release? This is all just so wild !! But it also enables anyone looking for it to search for the version in French under its French Title La Boum !! I have never seen the film at all in either French or English release. I dont even know who is in the film but apparently there is an Actress called Sophie Morceau in it and obviously it was a popular film in French speaking countries too. It just seems such a co-incidence that the title in french is "La Boum!" after Thomas's comments about "Whats that banging noise" I honestly cross my heart and swear to god all of this message is true and that my Morroccan colleague Fatma recognised the music within the first ten seconds of it starting. I just had to tell you all! Unfortunately she was just leaving the office on her way home because we are closing for new year holiday so I did'nt have time to ask her where she saw the film whether it was in France or Morrocco. By the way it wasn't a copy of the download - I am respecting the wishes of TMDR about not copying it and redistributing it. It is just that at 17Megabytes - like many others - I have no way of removing it from the office !! [ No CD writer here ] I wonder if we will ever know whether the 'banging' of Thomas's Fairlight influenced the French release Title or whether it is just one of those nice co-incidences. As you all know by now my french is hopeless but I think Boum might actually have a double oo in the middle as in Booum!! I suppose the next step is to see if its available on the Web under its French title and whether TMDR gets credited. Booum! How appropriate! - it must have been a hit in France. A search in IMDB on Sophie Morceau (perhaps best known in the US as James Bond's latest interest in "The World Is Not Enough") shows that she was in two films, "La Boum" and "La Boum 2", in 1980 and 1982--long before Fever Pitch was filmed. She does not appear in the cast list for Fever Pitch, either. So there is no direct connection between what your friend mentioned and Thomas' score. Perhaps it simply sounded similar. And some weird flick about dog grooming or something, starring David Spade I think. What was the name of that one?
