Looks like this one doesn't have the porno site addresses hidden in it. It's a Word 97 macro virus which displays a message when 'the current day equals the current minute,' so presumably the message will appear if you have a Word document open at, for example, 20 mins past the hour on the 20th day of the month. Therefore you can predict when it will pop up. Some variants also turn off the macro warning feature in Word, and also remove some items from some menus. If I remember correctly the variant we had a couple of years ago removed a couple of items from the 'Tools' menu, I think 'Options' and/or 'Macro' were two of them, but I'm not sure now. At the time we were running three different networks, and one of them didn't have a good virus checker, so we couldn't easily remove it. As it infects the normal.dot Word template, we used to delete normal.dot on any PC where the virus was detected, and replace it with one from a PC we knew WASN'T infected. The trouble with this was that PCs were easily infected again if files were mailed or copied via floppy from any infected PC to any uninfected PC. And any personal facilities in your personal copy of normal.dot would be lost as well. It's a damn nuicence more than really harmful. The only reliable way to get rid of it is to have a good virus checker on every PC to clean it out. Speak to your IT support people about getting an up to date one on your PC. Not only will it clean your PC now, but it'll stop further infections before they happen. For info, the profile from NAI for this virus is as follows : Virus Name -W97M/Assilem.A Risk Assessment - Medium Virus Characteristics This is a virus for Word 97 documents. It is able to replicate under the SR-1 release (Service Release - 1) of Word 97. It will turn off the macro warning feature of Word 97. This virus consists of a module called Melissa. This macro virus will infect Word's normal.dot file. This virus contains the text 'WORD/Melissa written by Kwyjibo 'Works in both Word 2000 and Word 97 'Worm? Macro Virus? Word 97 Virus? Word 2000 Virus? You Decide! 'Word -> Email | Word 97 <--> Word 2000 ... it's a new age! which is never displayed. Unlike other variants of Melissa, this one does not have any e-mail spreading capability. When the current day equals the current minute, it inserts the following text into the document. "Twenty-two points, plus triple-word-score, plus fifty points for using all my letters. Game's over. I'm outta here." There you are; probably a lot more than you wanted to know.
