"She Blinded Me With Science" comes on over the radio and I was instantly captivated thinking "Wow! This guy is singing what I'm thinking... Geekgrrrls are sexy!" At that moment I knew I must hear more of this Thomas Dolby fellow. Sorry to hear you're not feeling well, and I hope you've gotten at least a little better by now. Unfortunately, I can't regale you with tales of the world, because I've dealing with bronchitis the last two or three weeks. I've gotten out a couple times to pick up stuff from Electronics Boutique (yeah, I'm that much of a geek. ::grin::) and to take Brigid to school, but mostly I've been vegging out watching the Food Network and the International Channel. Thomas did come up, though...Kevin and I were debating whether the reason I'm fond of the show "Good Eats" is because the host, Alton Brown, bears a resemblance to Our Hero. Of course, he was right, although that's not the only reason. Pay particular attention to the beret shots for that separated-at-birth feeling. ;) At any rate, I do hope you're well soon. I'm sorry if I'm behind the times. It's been discussed before, I'm sure. I just saw someone quote David Bowie in this manner: "Turn and Face the Strange Changes -- David Bowie" Here I am, 32 years old, and I swear I never thought of the line that way. I always thought it was just "Turn and Face the Strange" and the word changes was some kind of choral interjection. I also realize that the two interpretations mean basically the same thing, but I wonder why I never realized it before? Amusingly, I bet it pleases him no end that people have questions like these. (Sorry so OT, but TMDR and Bowie *do* have a connection.) - -- Elaine Linstruth Palmdale, CA, USA "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." -- Benjamin Franklin, 1759 "The American people must be willing to give up a degree of personal privacy in exchange for safety and security." -- FBI Director Louis Freeh, 1993 ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V5 #255 ***************************
