I'm about to direct Mr Picart to eBay and two rare music places I know of on the internet (the ones I have listed in the FAQ) where he might have some luck. If anyone here should know of any other rare music sources you've had luck with as far as locating Dolby's work, I'd appreciate having the information handy in the future. I get quite a few people asking me about Thomas' harder-to-find releases, particularly Gothic! Thanks Robin T From: "Gino B. I recently visited your website on Thomas Dolby and I have searched everywhere for his "Gothic" movie score. Is there any way possible I can buy this recording? This I copied and pasted from your website. > > -GOTHIC Score (KEN RUSSELL, 1986) VIRGIN/VESTRON > Thank you for your time. Here are a fellow fan's thoughts on Thomas' work. I love what he says about "giving life" to a musical composition through playing it. xxx Robin from Gino B. Picart Montero: Thank you for answering my questions on Thomas Dolby's Gothic score. Ever since I saw the movie and listened to the music I have been searching hard for the musical score. The music along with the movie has inspired me a lot on my poetry works and I really hope I can find it. I think that the Gothic movie score should be released on CD like many other "old" music scores or records. If there would be just a way of letting Mr. Dolby know how much fans of his work are searching for this musical score. Well, lets hope for the best. The first time I listened to Mr. Dolby it was back in the 80's with his hit "She blinded me with science". That song is a classic and it always brings back good memories from the 80's era. I have always loved to play keyboard, although I've never taken any lessons. I play by ear, which is something I inherited from my father, who is a composer in Florida. Everytime I listen to Mr. Dolby's music I just know how much he must enjoy composing and at the same time "giving life" to his musical creations when playing. It is something hard to explain. It is plain inspiration. Only the composer can understand that feeling, that inspiration, that flow of emotions. Through his music one can enjoy that experience. I recently wrote a thought to a friend of mine and it goes like this: "Music is a flow of feelings and emotion. There would be no world without music". ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V5 #254 ***************************
