I finally decided that I have to buy a DVD player, and have begun buying DVD's (Rosemary's Baby started off my collection). What I find shocking is that certain titles are already out of print! Totally frustrating. For example, Pasolini's SALO:120 Days in Sodom. Yes it is a truly disturbing film, but still an infamous, arguably important work and it is already out of pint...and copies on EBAY are going for around $350! Ok, so I named an extreme example. But still, it drives me crazy that most earthlings don't own a DVD player, and titles are already going out of print. Drives me crazy! >>jon ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 5 Oct 2000 08:52:46 -0600 From: "Keith Stansell" Subject: Re: Alloy: Rare OOP I would think that something that sold out like that would get a second run. But it seems that the production can't keep up with all the older movies that the studios want to put out. I guess it is a good thing that it was out in the first place, there are still quite a bit of recent big movies that are not on the format yet. By the way, you can rent the DVD from Netflix.com But it says on the rental notes - out of print - long wait. I put it on my list to rent from them. You have sparked my curiosity. - -Keith - -----Original Message----- From: Jon To: Alloy Date: Thursday, October 05, 2000 1:33 AM Subject: Alloy: Rare OOP > > Speaking of rare and out of print items... > I finally decided that I have to buy a DVD player, and have begun >buying DVD's (Rosemary's Baby started off my collection).
