Here's the latest on the calendar project: First of all, hopefully everyone who wants to be involved in the project is going full steam ahead getting their images ready. For new people just joining us, these images should be of the 'costume party' variety featuring yourself (or someone you love) as a favorite character from one of Thomas Dolby's songs, videos or films - or as a beatnik!... or illustrate something from Thomas' songs, videos, filmwork, etc. I've also asked for Alloy member birthdays for the calendar, and have gotten a fantastic response. If anyone else would like their birthday included who hasn't yet contacted me, please let me know. Another thing... I've been pondering the whole issue of financing the print job for these, and of having them shipped out, while keeping everything as inexpensive as possible for our members. I've decided that in this day and age, and so no one will have to feel excluded if they happen to be broke (like me!) it might be the best option for me to compose the calendar page by page, and post it to the Web after all. Members can then print it out if they like, or simply refer to it on a monthly basis 'on screen' as needed, accessable via the Alloy FAQ page. If anyone would like a printed out version they could certainly make arrangements with me & I'll print it & send it. This option will also make the deadline a little more flexible, because I won't have to do lots of paste up & get the things printed & shipped before the first of the year - however please do get your image to me by the end of November! I'll need to decide who gets which month, and how many sections the year will have to be divided into, based on how many images I receive. New image deadline... Friday December 1st! (this is + two months on the previously set september 15th deadline... but remember as always, time goes by quickly so full steam ahead on these) Any comments, please let me have it... otherwise I look forward to receiving lots of fantastic Dolby related images for the calendar! Made me think of my own dad who is in another state. This could very well be a song from a father to his daughter. Guess I feel a little more emotional over this since having one on the way kinda affects me. Thanks Robin for your comments. Kate;-) Mother to be for the third time. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 Aug 2000 16:33:55 -0400 (EDT) From: Dennis Alexander Subject: Alloy: RE: alloy-digest V5 #194 Kathleen wrote, >I have to say, I absolutely love Jon's comments on the 'List' >on VH1. Oh well, shows >how ignorant I was a teenager. Eh, what do ya expect?? When I was a pre-teen in Riverton Wyoming, we had two radio stations. One played only classical and the other played everything in Country and Pop and everything in between. Kenny Rogers "The Gambler" would be followed up by Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust". I didn't even know that country and rock were two different varieties. I thought Eddie Rabbit was rock and Kenny Loggins was country! ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V5 #195 ***************************
