CRACKERS!!!!! I just listened to 108 and I am going back for more and more!!!! Who is your singer?? She reminds me of a cross between Lena Lovich, Yoko Ono, and Debbie Harry. I like the ska-beats.... is this the idea behind the band?? To be ska-ish?? I guess I will find out with the next download... THe quality is fine!!! I too am putting all of my MP3's into top quality Mono files for clarity but small file size. (It cuts it in half) Great Job. I guess I will find out with the next download... Well that was the idea behind that song to be ska-ish, the band is more punk-a-billy than anything else. Want to hear a little secret about the song 108? We didn't exactly "write" the lyrics. One of the band members was reading a radio playlist for the station "Energy 108" and noticed that all the song names, strung together like that, almost made for lyrics of a song in itself. That's why the song is titled "108". The female singers in the band are Monica Knott and Sarah Hodgeson. Monica is the predominant female vocalist and is actually a trained opera singer who has sung with Pavarotti (and wore purple panties while doing so which violated the rules for performing with Pavarotti) She is also a speach pathologist. Sarah is an art teacher and into anything cute and is an uber geek-grrrl. Glad you liked the songs. My personal favorites are N-Thanx (probably only Canadians who have seen the M-Banx commercials will get this song), Dennis, and Photo Radar (on which I play flute in addition to organ). > THe quality is fine!!! But when you stop to consider that the average joe listens to MP3s on their computer using a crappy pair of speakers set usually less than 20" apart they're not getting that much stereo seperation anyways. By golly Mono was good enough for my pappy and his pappy a'fore 'im so it sure be fine 'nuff fer me. ^_^ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 02 Aug 2000 10:16:54 -0700 From: Kathleen Presser Subject: Alloy: Re: alloy-digest V5 #187 > > > I have an annoucement to ya all. Hey Crackers.. I haven't been able to hear the music yet.. but I was amused by your comment about the purple panties.. I used to live in Italy.. and I still work with Italians sometimes. It is considered to bring bad luck to any performance if one wears purple... this is for live events or events being taped or filmed. The first time I walked onto an Italian set I was wearing a University of Washington sweatshirt.. and they freaked out! The UW colors are purple and gold.. and they made me take it off then and there! I learn fast.. so it never happened again. I hope that Pavarotti didn't fall off the stage that night !! Ciao for now.. Mark ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 2 Aug 2000 21:31:50 EDT From: CJMark@aol.com Subject: Re: Alloy: Re: alloy-digest V5 #187 Hey Kate!! Congrats!!
