You do have to be a member to access the journals in fact. But, it is the same price as a magazine & there's really so much to see @ BowieNet, you might think it worth it to have for a month anyway, and take a look around. You can always just do it one time & then unsubscribe if you think BowieNet is something you can live without (but for us, it's absolutely necessary! :) Robin T ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 06 Jul 2000 22:33:26 -0400 From: "Melissa R. Oh, gosh - let's just say it only took one non-functioning rental car, followed by one malfunctioning rental car, followed by one rear-ended, crunched rental car before I got rental car #4 to cart my carcass up north. Whew. It was an absolutely infuriating experience, but, it sure was worth it! It's really rare to meet someone for the first time face-to-face and feel instantly comfortable with them, but that's exactly how I felt when I walked through Robin and Dave's door. What incredibly cool human beings - delightful, brilliant, funny, and so amazingly creative! Getting to drive up to see Robin was one of those funky coincidences - one of my colleagues needed me to give a presentation to a Russian delegation up in New Jersey, plus I have two sisters in Jersey, plus 3 nieces and nephews and their six kids (my great- nieces and nephews!) One of my sisters just had knee replacement surgery, and I wanted to help her out around the house. So this was a rare opportunity to combine work, friends, and family over a long holiday weekend. I feel very fortunate, indeed. (Even my hotel room in Secaucus on the 4th was 4 miles from the spectacular fireworks in NYC - I had a front row seat from my suite!) Having made such great friends via Alloy makes me appreciate Our Fearless Leader even more. I owe ya, Thomas - without you and Alloy, I wouldn't have some of my dearest friends. Cheers, everyone, Melissa P.S. I must have a ferret now. They are so cool. :-) - -- Melissa R.
