Mine would include a hiss free, digital version of that Flat Earth Tour Concert recorded in 1984. I was once offered this on record via the States. However, I was looking at well over £100.00 including P&P. Sadly I couldn't risk losing this money at the time for a damageable vinyl copy of this exquisite collectors item. Robin, This is unbelievably generous. However, I'm sure that the rest of the group will agree that this is too much. We are all lovers of Thomas' work, but because of this fact we are also aware of how each and every piece matters to all of us. Robin, please don't give up your favourite piece of Dolbyism. The simple fact that you are organising this in your own time is generosity and a huge prize in itself. I am really looking forward to these calendars for the main reason that it's seeing pictures of everybody together doing something that is Dolby. This is a great idea, and I'm sure Thomas will think highly of it too. You're an Angel! Well, if you want to know...I logged into Napster, and searched on Hagen. This brought up the Solo song with the Artists credited as Thomas D and Nina Hagen or Thomas Dolby and Nina Hagen. Since many times on Napster the songs are incorrectly titled by people, I used Google to search on Thomas D and came across many articles and websites about a German artist called just Thomas D. Also downloading and listening to the song from Napster convinced me it just was not TMDR. Also note that it the date on the recording is from '95. If this was TMDR, one of us would have found this long before now (at least I'd hope so). - -Russ ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 27 May 2000 12:22:37 EDT From: CJMark@aol.com Subject: Re: Alloy: Calendar Project Robin... I have to concur with Trev.. I think that the participation should be based on people's enjoyment and enthusiasm.. not because they'll win a prize.. At least not because that prize has to be from your personal collection!. Now.. if there were a prize that were available from some sort of outside source... That might lend some excitement to the project.. but please don't feel obligated to give up one of your prized possesions.. (No pun intended) just to get some of us lazier types (or busier types.. as the case may be) off our collective butts and get involved.. Ciao for now.. Ah, Napster ... now I know where to find the full version of the song. :) Actually, at the URL I posted earlier that has info on Thomas D., the date of the album was (I believe) 1998. What do we learn from this? Don't trust everything you read on the internet. - - Colin ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 27 May 2000 23:22:49 -0400 (EDT) From: Chris Cracknell Subject: Re: Alloy: a permanent home for Alloy posts @ FES being proposed! Incidently, speaking of FES... we could possibly revive the Tap Room. I have found a free real-time chatroom service that would do the trick. http://www.beseen.com/ I just set up a chatroom with them for my newly created hentai webpage *(blush)* and it's increadably easy, and completely free. And once it is set up there is zero maintainence. Granted it has an ad bar across the top of your chatpage, but they have to pay for the service somehow. Just an idea to pass along to the FES designers. And for those who may have been wondering where I have been lately, well, like I said I just created a hentai webpage for my ecchi-alter-ego *(blush)*. Plus I've just recently discovered an online game that has me giddy as a schoolgirl... literally. SISSY FIGHT 2000. http://www.sissyfight.com Relive those painful childhood memories of being bullied on the playground or teasing little girls until they develope eating disorders. Form cliques and attack those different from you. All the joy of Jr. High is yours to experience again through the eyes of a schoolgirl. Part chatroom, part sissy brawl, all fun. So if you check it out keep your eyes open for a cute little girl named Ghastly. But be warned, I may look sweet but I'm a cold hearted bitch. I saw the creator of this game interviewed on the CBC and I just had to go see if the site was for real. The game is an absolute riot. It takes awhile to get the hang of it, at first it seems all random but you soon realize that there is a lot of strategy involved and you have to choose your playground alliances very carefully. Sometimes it's best to remain quiet, cowering in the corner and hope to go unnoticed and study everyone's technique and sometimes it's best to be agressive, be a charismatic bully and gather a clique around you and go on the offensive. Now that my hentai page is finished (I've been a closet hentaisha for a wee while now, experimenting with various ecchi-artforms) I guess I'll be busy working on my artwork for the Alloy Calander and recording my B-Side for this year's Project B-Day. (Time to repost the Project B-Day FAQ I think). And I want to completely redesign my non-ecchi webpage. Incidently, has anyone set up an Bride Of... webpage yet?
