[Dennis S Alexander ] Re: Alloy: Alloy - The Golden Age Of Cassettes ["Trevor James Blagg" Subject: Alloy: Going to San Francisco! I will be in the San Francisco area this next week (Mon - Thur), specifically Sunnyvale. Maybe some of you could meet me for dinner some night if you want. It would be nice to see you again, Stephen and Mary. And it would be nice to meet any one else in the area. I'll be in training during the days and will be with a few co-workers but I'm sure they wouldn't mind if I broke away for an evening. I know this is short notice, but, if anyone is interested email me at 'dennis_sym@hotmail.com'. Send me your phone number(s) so I can contact you out there. ___________ JAMac (Dennis S. There's a quick way to identify it. If you ever come across a UK cassette of the original album, check the spine to see if it says "on Chrom-Dioxide for quality" - if it does you should have found one! << Nice one Stephen, Thanks for this useful info. I have the guitar version as the B Side to the Windpower single, but state of repair is a little poor. I'll keep my eyes peeled for what is in my eyes the better version of this song and try to master it to CD one day. Much appreciated, Trevor... ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 1 Apr 2000 11:22:57 EST From: RThurF@aol.com Subject: Re: Alloy: Bruce Woolley In a message dated 4/1/00 12:22:30 AM Eastern Standard Time, thecrayons@home.com writes: :: I did a search on http://www.brightgate.com and this came up: BUGGLES BACK WITH MUSICAL HOPES - Articles & General info: Story Filed: Tuesday, January 25, 2000 8:36 PM EST (JAN. 25) :: Thanks for doing the search!! I may be completely mistaken... but I didn't think Bruce Woolley had much to do with the Buggles except that he wrote "Video Killed the Radio Star" with Camera Club, and then the Buggles remade it & got famous for it. Did Bruce Woolley actually have a relationship with them other than that? Now if only I had a record player I could find out of if the music is as evil as the Wild Cherry For Jesus made it out to be. The album is titled "Look For Trouble" and is (c)1980. I've put some scans of the album up in my webspace and they'll be there for about a week or so if you want to take a gander at them. WARNING: Wild Cherry For Jesus claims these pictures are satanic and will promote child prostitution, crossdressing, and homosexual behaviour, so view them at your own risk. Here are the evil URL for the pics... http://www.hwcn.org/~ad329/toronto1.jpg http://www.hwcn.org/~ad329/toronto4.jpg I accept no responsibility if after looking at these photos you should suddenly have the uncontrolable desire to engage in acts of homosexuality, crossdressing, or child prostitution. Although you know, maybe I'm just getting older but I do have to admit that they are a pretty freaky looking buch of characters, especially Nick Costello and Brian Allen. Also found but not purchased was an album titled "(somebody whose name I don't remember) Conducts The Yamaha Organs". Yes, a whole album of some conductor guy leading a dozen people playing Yamaha Organs. I was really tempted to buy this one too because it looked so cheesie. I have a feeling that as soon as I do get a record player I'm going to suddenly have a huge collection of records because I'm going to buy up every cheesie looking album I run across. But hey, they're only $1 each.
