Hi JAMac! Well,...I won't deny that there's some rather rich people living down here (I'm not one of them!), but normal people live here too, and it is beautiful down here. The weather is a huge relief after eight winters in Finland (Jon knows what I mean, don't you Jon??!!) IT & Telecommunications have overtaken tourism as the biggest industry in the area, so there are far more 'normal' people (okay, I admit it, geeks such as myself) than millionaires moving to the area. If you & Teresa fancy a sojourn out here for a year or two at some point in your lives, check it out! There are only three bad things down here,.... 1) The way that people drive - (terrifying!) 2) The way that people can't,...ermm,...control their pooches (watch your step) 3) French Bureacracy (which all my French friends grumble about too - it applies for everyone) Otherwise, it's a pretty good life,... And, electrix picture surprised me (or am I sticking my foot in my mouth? Hope not,) but you appear to a little older than I originally thought! Or is the hairline just receeding at a rapid pace in your youth? I say this because, only a couple of years ago I looked at your web page and you had a picture of a young man up there, like in your early 20s. (Or did he just want everyone to think he was younger?) At least you're kinda smiling in this one. I'm gonna feel real bad if I've made you feel old, now. ___________ JAMac (Dennis S. City. NEW YORK, Feb. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- SITI-Sites.com, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: SITI), announced that its New Media Music Division (http://www.newmediamusic.com) is producing a three day Expo focused on opportunities for promotion of the music industry and musicians in the digital age. Most of the leading Internet music companies will attend as participating exhibitors, including e.g., Launch.com, Riffage.com, Emusic.com, Creative Labs.com and Listen.com. Music industry gurus will also participate, such as Danny Goldberg (President of Artemis Records and former CEO of Warner Bros. Records), artists Ice-T, Robert Fripp and Thomas Dolby Robertson, along with Les Garland (co-founder of MTV/VH1), Al Teller (CEO of Atomic Pop Records and former President of Columbia Records/MCA), Gene Hoffman of Emusic.com, Producer Nile Rogers, Ron Stone of GMEMusic.com, and other top industry professionals. There will be 15 major discussion panels, 9 keynote speakers, and an exhibition hall filled with the new products and services of the new media music companies, as well as performers playing and the professionals networking together. Sponsors of the Expo include PCDJ.com (makers of the most powerful media player), MuzicDepot.com and Cablevision/Lightpath. Last year's successful Expo attracted much media attention, with stories in the New York Times, USA Today, MTV, VH1, WIRED and elsewhere. This year's Expo will be webcasted by Ampcast.com. The President of PCDJ, Laura Betterly said, "There's no denying that our entertainment world is in the midst of high-tech change, as consumers demand instant digital delivery of music, bands, want easier access to their fans, and record companies ponder what their roles will be, setting the agenda for this dynamic and compelling Exposition. Steve Zuckerman, Producer and Founder of the Expo, commented: "By getting publications and sponsors involved, along with the people who create the music, and the people who buy it, we've created a synergistic event for all the players in the equation." The Expo will be held at the New Yorker Hotel ballrooms, at Eighth Avenue and 34th Street, New York City, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 3, 4 and 5 opening at 10:30 a.m. each day. Tickets have been priced low to attract emerging artists and fans, and can be purchased on-line at SITI's Expo website http://www.newyorkexpo.com. SITI further announced continuing expansion of its New Media Music division, an e-news/magazine business devoted to new Internet music, news releases by artists and record labels, interviews and other information useful to fans and artists. This e-magazine is updated on a continuing basis, and with the Expo expanded to other cities, is expected to be at the fulcrum of internet music promotion and development. Founded by SITI executives Ted Mazola and Steve Zuckerman this past year, New Media Music is now expanding its database with SITI's software team, to offer a variety of additional services to artists and fans via the Internet. The Expo has been sold out to exhibitors this year, and SITI is now booking them for its N.Y. Expo for 2001, which will be held in Madison Square Garden. In addition to the Expo and New Media Music, SITI owns http://www.hungrybands.com and http://www.tropia.com and has a strategic relationship with http://www.EZCD.com. SITI's entire digital music group now consists of approximately 23,000 independent and other artists, selling their music through the Internet. SITI is in the midst of a program for strategic affiliations with other music websites worldwide, to add additional emerging artists. This press release contains statements that are "forward-looking", which are based on management's current hopes and expectations. There can be no guarantees as to SITI's future performance, or that its plans or operations thereafter will prove successful. For a discussion of the risks, capital needs and competition relating to SITI and its business, see SITI's publicly filed quarterly reports (the latest is dated February 14, 2000), recent news releases, and its annual SEC report filed in July, 1999, all of which are available on the Internet, and by request to SITI at 594 Broadway, Suite 1001, New York, N.Y. 10012. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 18 Feb 2000 22:52:30 -0500 From: Jon Subject: Re: Alloy: don't worry Jon!
