Hi y'all, I did say that piece was 'reportedly' by Douglas Adams didn't I? This correction is from the same source. I checked out some of the other pages, they're quite a giggle. P. Yes it certainly is an extended version. It clocks in at around 2 mins longer than the The Golden Age of Wireless version. For further details you may want to check out Lazlo Nibble's most excellent discography of the Gentleman's works. If memory serves you'll find it at: Well worth the time checking out, there are a gaggle of artists he's covered in pretty amazing detail. > Also, I lost track of who was compling the Names To Faces > gallery...I submitted my pics months ago, but noticed they never made it > on. I'm not very good, but I took 4 years of it in high school. How long is it? Someone I corrospond with on another message board has a masters degree in latin, I haven't written to her in a while, but she could probably do it perfectly. Let me know the details if you want to give it a try. I may be unemployed but I'm in high demand as far as my tin whistle goes. One group that I perform with, very occasionally due to scheduling conflicts, has agreed to be the core entertainment for some Irish party. Basically, we're compensated with free beer. (Hmmm, not bad). We won't be the only group there but it looks like I'm being involved at the core level. I'm also going to be the sound man as no one else has the equipment for such. And specifically, they requested my tin whistle (the equipment was a side-thought). I don't really know if I'm that good and I only know about 10 songs on it and I can sing another 10, but people are asking to hear me more and more! Also, I've entered myself into an Irish music contest where the grand prize is a free trip to Ireland this fall! I havn't told Teresa yet, and I hope she's not reading this. I don't think she's read Alloy as of late. Of course, I also hope I win. But if I win, it just may be our honeymoon! It looks like our wedding will be in the fall anyway (we hope). In fact, Teresa came up with the idea of making the invitation in the form of a CD. So I've been putting together the graphics for that and working on songs (we were going to do our own song as 'our song' anyway). The only outside work I'm planning on putting in there is Beauty of a Dream (which reminds me, I've got to ask Thomas if I can include that on the CD.) I've never done stuff like this before (any of it! Irish music, a wedding, compiling a CD, etc.) but it's a blast! I always figured I'd get a CD made of my music one of these days, I just didn't figure it would also be my wedding invitation as well! ___________ JAMac (Dennis S. Hi guys, please pardon my silence and be assured that I spend much time reading all the digests with great interest. 1. I wanted you all to know that I am actively engaged in re-building a life. I may not have mentioned it (or maybe I did at X-mas time) but I have split from my wife. After about 3 months of couch surfing I am finally living with a roomie (fellow musician/bachelor 30 something-ish guy) and actually have a real bed now, that I haven't had one bad sleep in! I am actually starting to dream in colour again! 2. I am still doing my radio show on Monday Mornings (12:00am till 2:00am est, for the west-coasters that will be Sunday nights) and thought you might be interested in checking out my latest creation. It is called "The midnight Folk Review" and is all about presenting London Bands Live in the wee hours. I can't believe these people are willing to go on air at that time! WOW! This week I am featuring a group called "2 dollar Bill and his Bad Pennies" (not to be confused with "jez Lowe and the Bad Pennies"). This band does some riotous blue-grassy skiffle kinda stuff complete with washtub bass, tin can drums, kazoo Harmonica, mandolin, fiddle and guitars. I will probably have about 8 of them packed into a tiny room so it is sure to be smeely and alot of fun. ( http://www.chrw.fm.net ) on real audio. 3. On a Dolby note. Can somebody update me with a TMDR discography so that I may build up my collection (relatives are always asking me for "gift-lists at birthday and X-mas times"). A Url would be sufficient if such a link exists. Welcome to all newcomers and remeber...if you hear the show feel free to mail me with your comments. Peace to all.
