Best of all though is that I'm sharing a house with (don't snigger at the back there) 5 AUSTRALIAN GIRLS!!!!! Fantastic. I'm totally cool about it, but all my friends are virtually beating my door down to come and stay.... I think it's really nice though as I lived in girly houses all the way through uni as well, and it's putting me back in touch with my long-lost caring sensitive side - we were all lounging around eating ice-cream together last night... Best of all though is that I got to drive a van for the first time - we actually did a complete circuit of London. In the UK people in 'white vans' have a real reputation as being maniac drivers, so as I was going along the motorway or making tricky right hand turns I could just see every other car hesitating and letting me through in a kind of 'don't *&*% with this guy' kind of way! Cool We'll be having a house-warming party soon, which we want to be an ICE-CREAM theme night!! All welcome of course! You'll have to come over and see it some time. Perhaps we could have a Rocky Mountain Alloy meeting and watch Live Wireless (which I now have). Thanks again for helping me move. Internet networking at it's finest. Ok, I feel stupid now. I am going to get a house! Even if I have to > steal one!!! (Is that possible?) Hmmm, perhaps you shouldn't visit. ( :-) I think there was a Simpson's episode where their house was "stolen" by canival folk. > > -Irish music- > first and third Wednesdays of each month so our next performance is this > Wednesday. Hope to see you there, Keith? Oh yeah, I think I may have to venture downtown. I may not be able to make this week, due to an early start I need to make this Thursday, but perhaps the next one. What time does the music start? - -Keith ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 17 Jan 2000 06:18:07 EST From: CJMark@aol.com Subject: Re: Alloy: OT: An Alloy-ite, a Neologism, and Nixon's Favorite Newspaper In a message dated 12/29/99 8:34:30 PM, jacksonhome@home.com writes: << http://www.egroups.com/group/puny/info.html >> Hey Lee.. thanks for the info... Hi all, does anyone live in Cleveland Ohio? OK, OK, I KNOW that some people obviously live there but do we have any alloyites out there in Cleveland? If not does anyone know anything about an operation called "Little Nighttown Music". I want to but some stuff from them but am dubious about their reliability. I can't find any information about them anywhere. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers! I don't know why, but when I was doing the youth hostel thing across the UK (it was revision time, but I had actually done all the reading and the papers throughout the year, so I figured I could bum around for a bit), I met Australian women everywhere, and they were all student nurses. :-) Second, have you actually seen Morrissey in concert? I'm going next month. I was curious if he plays only his solo stuff or if he ever does any Smiths stuff. I'm really, really looking forward to this. I've actually rearranged a flight for a conference so I can make this gig. I have to go right from the concert to the airport to go to the Wireless 2000 (cell phones, satellite stuff) event in New Orleans. I will be a disaster for that first morning, surely, but the Russians in my group will probably have been drinking all weekend in the Big Easy, so they most likely won't notice that I'm dead to the world. And yes, I saw Morrissey twice in December at Kentish Town. I won't repeat my favourite story about how I heroically crowd-surfed to the front, fought off two big burly bouncers and screamed "MORRRISSSEEEEEEEEEEYYYYY" until he came over and shook my hand while singing, and how we went to the after-show party and met the band (dammit - I just repeated it again!!), but it was truly wonderful. He played Morrissey songs including You're Gonna Need, Hairdresser on Fire (amazing), Speedway, Sunny, Reader Meet Author, Now My Heart..., Trouble Loves Me (gorgeous), and Smiths songs like Last Night I Dreamt, Meat Is Murder and Is It Really So Strange. It's an amazing show, and Morrissey is gorgeous - so's Alan the guitarist... Good luck, and queue early! Tim - -----Original Message----- From: Melissa R. I really think you should consider making little illustrated books of these, using the text of your Alloy posts, and laying them out like children's books bit by bit with really expressive drawings of the story on every other page to illustrate the action. I'm sure in a few years you'd have quite a nice set of volumes that'd be great fun to look through. I'm sorry you had a pang of heartache on my account! But don't worry. I've dealt with many a cantankerous old coot before... even the Harley-ridin', metal carryin', hard-drinkin' lot (my dad was working on a book about the Hell's Angels shortly before his death. It's probably his neighborhood. If you should ever happen to see Joe around one of the pubs someday, Tim, could you do me a favor? See if you can get him to tell you about the time he ran the entire London marathon with absolutely no previous training, back around 1980. Ever since I heard about it a few years ago I've been fascinated! Something tells me the band's exhaustive touring schedule did a lot to build up his endurance, but still, quite impressive.
