Bidding was quite hot on it, buy I got it, by gum. I've now managed to collect TGAOV, Live Wireless, and the 4-song Video 45. My goal now is to try and locate other videos, specifically the stuff from Astronauts and Heretics. More specifically, "I Love You Goodbye." Has this or any other A&H video ever been released on VHS or DVD? Finally, does anyone here get M2, the sister channel to MTV? I heard today that at the stroke of midnight EST on the new year, they're going to start playing "every video ever made," and in alphabetical order, no less. Someone mentioned the number 19,000 when talking about how many this meant they're playing. I'd like to nominate this as a totally informal and unofficial non-Alloy activity - anyone who has M2, could you please record Thomas' videos as they come by? All we need is an alphabetized listing of his stuff, and someone with M2 to watch out for each one. If M2 is indeed doing what they say they'll do, I have a feeling that this is the only way anyone is ever going to get a complete collection of Thomas' work (unless we can beseech the Spectacled One himself to put them out on DVD <g>). - -- Lee Jackson (jacksonhome@home.com) http://gameaudio.3dportal.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 17 Dec 99 00:47:19 -0800 From: "electrix" <electrix@mail.electricson.com> Subject: Re: Alloy: Horrorscopic PS > > Gemini: 5 > > Scorpio: 5 > > Aquarius: 5 Yeah bayby... that's more like it, shaggadelic! >I'd made a mistake when I first posted this, but in reality there are 5 >Geminis, not the 4 I'd originally posted. Thanks for the replies re: Live Wireless... The reason I ask is that I'm about to make an audio copy of Live Wireless so that I can enjoy it without fiddling around with videotapes (which is cumbersome and always carries the risk of wear and tear or terminal damage). Listening via the VCR's stereo line-outs it's very good except that it sounds to me like the original master was recorded on a reel-to-reel with dirty heads and/or a worn tape - the dropouts are numerous. So I was wondering if one day I'll ever be able in some way to get my hands on a version with no dropouts? i.e. was the actual master good quality but the VHS copies were a bit wonky? Nice to hear someone has the LD - do you have a machine to play it on though?!! Cheers, +Andy+ P.S. I have the CD and vinyl of Gothic (my very first CD) as well as a taped copy of the movie. I lucked into a laserdisc of Rockula on eBay not too long ago, but haven't had time to watch it yet. Was the soundtrack ever released for that one? I also have the soundtrack for Toys on CD and a taped copy of the movie. I have to get a new copy of We're Back (kiddo dumped something sticky in it) and Ferngully. I'm also looking for the soundtracks for both of those. And just to round out the soundtrack category, I have Gate To The Mind's Eye on VHS, CD and DVD. Details, please - what does it contain? I got this just last week, when I was in Tower looking for a copy of 12 + 12. It's playlist is as follows: Hyperactive!/She Blinded Me With Science/I Scare Myself/Key To Her Ferrari/The Flat Earth/Mulu The Rain Forest/Europa And The Pirate Twins/The Ability To Swing/Radio Silence/Cloudburst At Shingle Street/Windpower/Screen Kiss/White City/Airhead/Hot Sauce/May The Cube Be With You. This is the EMI Gold edition of Hyperactive, as opposed to the Disky edition, which has a different playlist. I haven't had time to listen to this yet, so I can't speak with authority as to which version of each particular song is on the CD. > >(I don't know why the hell they are all guys. I used to have a really huge Dolby collection - while I was away in Russia, all my stuff was stored at my mother's house. Little did I know that my mom had hired a friend of a friend to housekeep for her. This poor woman suffered a nervous breakdown which manifested itself in bizarre behavior at Mom's, including her dumping dog food all over my stored Dolby and Star Wars memorabilia, as well as all my school documents. Hungry squirrels chewed their way into Mom's attic for the dog food, and most of my goodies were history. It was, honestly, a pretty devastating loss (I was pretty sentimental about my Dolby stuff, and I could have put a kid through college on the current day value of my Star Wars things.)
