Thank you! BTW... what does Pax Aye mean? I've been wondering for ages now... is it some sort of Americanism that's way over my head? :o) - ----- Reading about DVD and The Gate to the Mind's Eye makes me wonder if Live Wireless will ever be released on a decent format? My VHS copy sounds very ropey in places, as if it was recorded on a doddy reel-to-reel with a worn tape. Does anyone have Live Wireless on Laserdisc or other format with good sound? Was the original recording at the event poor to start with? - ----- >Your daughter is so sweet :) What's raising a family really like? Ta very much Robin - well... it's a change to the old lifestyle that's for sure. Having to nail things down, put harmful weapons of mass destruction out of reach, fix up stair gates etc. You can't just go anywhere at any time any more. Sleep is a thing of beauty. The little thing just sucks in time and space around itself. But it's worth it (or it has been so far!), she's such a laugh. Although, funnily enough, we both wouldn't want another one! Not yet perhaps... although at times that's a definite "not ever"! But when I return home in the evening, I open the door and she runs to greet me "Daddy!" with a grin of delight - you just can't top that! Just go for it... there's never a perfect time but you'll adjust. You know it has to be done! - -------- >Do I have to unload and reload everything i have to make sure it's all in there properly? That's the joy of Windows PCs! If you drove a Micorsoft car every now and then it would just stop. You'd have to get everyone out of the car, get back in and re-start it. I do find Beatnik widgets takes a HUGE amount of horsepower - my work machine seizes up big-time, then again it is ONLY a ******* - I can't bring myself to admit the poor spec! But just a couple of years ago it would have been an acceptable machine. C'est la vie. Maybe you need to upgrade? ;-) PC or baby? Tough choice! You're the person who outbid me on the Flat Earth tour booklet I actually totally forgot about the auction until about fifteen minutes after it ended, otherwise, I would have been delighted to duke it out with ya for possession! I'm working on a Flat Earth tour shadowbox for my home office - via online auctions, I've managed to snarf backstage/access passes, a poster from the concert at the Greek Theater in LA, a really funky promo item for the release of "Dissidents", etc.) So, is it cool? What pictures are in it? Any interesting comments, concepts, etc.? Did you get to see Our Fearless Leader on that tour? Inquiring minds (well, at least one!) want to know! I'll tell you one unique thing about your birthday.. you share it with me! Though a few years previous.. I was born in 1954.. but also on June 27th. So that makes at least 2 Cancers here.. and though you might be sceptical.. there are many things I find fascinating about the idea of people being represented by various signs.. but there are so many variables with moon signs.. ascendants.. etc.. that you can dissect for months to try and understand what it all means. For anyone who would like.. I know of one web site where you can have your chart done by computer in about 5 seconds.. http://www.astrodienst.com/atlas/atlquest-eng.html Try it out... but your chart is only the beginning.. It's the way you interpret it that counts. Ciao for now.. New Message Boards have been created for GrooveGram contest participants (or anyone who wants to chat!) To go straight to Thomas' GrooveGram discussion board, go to: http://discussion.beatnik.com/groovegrams/cgi-bin/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topi cs&number=4&start=here to chat about the contest, the mixes, etc. (with even a bit of trivia thrown in for spice :) Personally, I'd be really interested to know how many of my fellow Alloids have participated in this contest so far, how many plan to, and what our experiences have been doing the mixes - so I hope everyone will drop in & contribute their two cents! If I can get my computer to behave itself long enough (it seems to be handling Beatnik okay tonight, which is an excellent sign) I will go over & attempt a mix tonight..!! If you'd like to look around @ the contest & its participants in their entirety you might wish to start @ http://promotions.yahoo.com/promotions/groovegrams/ and follow your instincts from there. Indulge!! Robin T :) trying to think what I'll wear on the plane to Oxford, England if I win the prize ;) ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V4 #332 ***************************
