Hi Electrix (& others), > Similarly, some other ditties I never heard befo', like > "Dissidents: The Search For Truth (Part 1)" 7 minutes 17 > seconds of eargasm. Hell, it leaves me wanting to hear Part 2! You can find part II on the following: Thomas Dolby: Hyperactive! [1994] single reissue CD5: 1994 UK (EMI; CDEMCT 10 / 7243 880965-2 2) Thomas Dolby: Hyperactive [1998] compilation album CD: 1998 NL (Disky 4994202) These mixes were by Francois Kevorkian. BTW I found an 80's compilation album at a flea market (In Helsinki) last weekend called 12+12 which contains, not surprisingly, 12 12" mixes. There is only one TMDR track but it is Search for the truth part 1 but in a completely different ass-kicking format than any other mix I have or have heard. The cover was not very good condition but contained an interesting little paragraph about the musical evolution of TMDR. It was pressed in 1985 (I think) and the vinyl is in near mint condition. I paid about $3! What a find! > The CD is worth every penny... (electrix kicking back grinning). Indeed it is. A peach. I will be keeping an ear out for it! electrix ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 11 Nov 1999 00:28:44 -0500 From: "Melissa R. Jordan" Subject: Alloy: OT - Joe Jackson Hello, Alloy-folk. Since I know you to be a group of people with excellent taste in music, I am certain that there must be at least a handful of Joe Jackson fans among us. I just thought I'd let the Alloy'ed in North America know that Joe Jackson is engaged in a book- and cd-signing tour right now (new book: "A Cure For Gravity"; new cd: "Symphony No. 1"). He's already been in NYC, Philly, and Boston, and tonight, he graced Washington, DC with his fascinating presence. I got to meet him and he signed not only my copy of his book, but my lovely vintage "Night and Day" poster (which he seemed fascinated by, having never seen this particular poster before - he wanted to know where, when, and how I managed to procure it (eBay!)) Anyway, if you'd like to hear him read from his book, answer lots of audience questions, and get up close and personal with a cool musician, you see him on upcoming dates in numerous cities in the U.S., as well as Toronto and Montreal in Canada. Visit his website: http://www.joejackson.com to get all the scoop. Cheers, Melissa - -- Melissa R.
