As you might be aware, I was having trouble getting the Science1999 remix program to work last weekend. I wrote a couple of messages to the address provided on that page and got a reply promptly on Monday morning! That's great service. Kudos to the Beatnik staff!!! /\/\iles - who will shortly be flying north . . . ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 19 Oct 1999 15:00:16 -0400 From: "Stephen M. That's great. Definitely worth listening to. I found it inspiring. Hard to top that. /\/\ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 19 Oct 1999 15:54:46 EDT From: RThurF@aol.com Subject: Re: Alloy: names to faces Kate, I'm glad you like my choice of photos for you! It was hard to choose - both of the photos are beautiful (but they'll both be up anyway once the Gallery is fully functional) In this one you have flowers in your hair which is what finally swayed me. A very pretty touch! As for your quote, I certainly agree... shit definitely happens!! Your birthday is exactly seven days after my sister Marie's, same year too. It figures, she's always cracking me up with her observational humor, much as you are (LOL!) My sister-in-law was born in the same year I was and we get along like the best of friends. Hmm, let's see your sister was born six days after me?, astrologically sounds like her sun sign is Capricorn. The picture with the flowers in my hair is one of my wedding pictures. The photo gallery is looking really good.! Pax Aye, Kate;-) RThurF@aol.com wrote: > Kate, I'm glad you like my choice of photos for you! You and Marie would get along really well I bet! She *was* even in a similar line of work to yours (computers / Disney) though for the time being she's in NY & will be going to school for radiology soon. As a quick aside, speaking of such things... it turns out I will get an MRI after all, this Friday. I'm psyched because I've never gotten to see my brain before & I want to put it on the internet. Has anyone here had an MRI? What's it like? Will my hair be sticking out in twelve million directions when I finally emerge? (that's all I can picture... excessive static from the (electro!)magnetic imagery, which I'm sure isn't how it works at all... but it's fun to imagine turning into a walking tazer charge. And the kids in the children's ward can all stick balloons on me :) The minor update to the Gallery... a couple of people have asked about the violin in my picture, whether it's one of mine - it is! So I've re-cropped the image to show the entire length of it. This is the second violin I ever made, based on a Guanieri model. Here I've polished it to within an inch of its life for this photo shoot, which was part of my friend Michele's art school 'texture' photo assignment. Cay will probably recognise the stone lion in the photo from Boston's Public Garden...
