I personally have to say that Veruca Salt is my favorite. She was a spoiled brat and received almost everything she asked for, which is quite funny because you see people every day with children just like her. From what I heard was she started her own band based after the her movie name. Whats really neat is -Nestle- just had another Wonka contest to find the golden rapper. It was the same theme inline with the movie. The prize was a trip to the Chocolate Factory. This was about 3 months ago and I only bought one bar. I found didn't find the golden rapper. It would of been neat to find that rapper. The Wonka bar was really good too. >snip< Robyn Moore Wrote: Rumour hath it they're looking at remaking it with Nick Cage in the Willy Wonka role and a plotline more faithful to the book. I had two of their records my eldest sister gave me from her collection: "The Giant Rat of Sumatra" and another which had to do with a certain MoreScience High School being taken over by their cross-town rivals, Communist Martyr High. The acts of the play were interspersed with really bizarre "commercials" and fragements of other shows (the idea was of someone flipping through the channels during the boring parts of the main show) I can't remember the name of this record, but it was my favorite of the two. Some of the lines from that still come floating back to me in certain situations! Dave's show in Princeton has not even been up for an entire week yet, and he's already sold two paintings as of last night. The gallery owner hadn't even put all the labels up yet! The customer also says he would like to see Dave's other work as well, since he knows another gallery owner closer to NYC who is sure to like Dave's paintings, etc... This is all a very good sign! Again, the show is hanging at the DeLann Gallery in Princeton, if anyone's passing through the area. The gallery is small and extremely nice. The woman who owns it is highly intelligent & sensible, and fascinating to talk to. If you go, you can even see actress Bebe Neuwirth's mom's paintings, which are hanging across from the framing counter (very nice work BTW! :) Robin T ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 2 Sep 1999 17:58:16 EDT From: Keys35@aol.com Subject: Re: Alloy: OT-Willy Wonka Hi everyone - I don't think I've ever posted to this list before, but I had to comment on Veruca Salt. I have a 7 year old son - and when he gets really bratty or whiney - I call him Veruca, and it stops him dead in his tracks Thanks Wonka ! This piece is so devastatingly beautiful. I've just sat & listened to it several times through with headphones, & I loved it more & more each time :) Bravo, Mr Dolby.
