I've been working on ordering myself a new comfy office chair - $450?!?!?! Dang, man. I say we identify someone to go to some good estate sales and find some good OLD comfy chairs. I know how to reupholster, and I have some lovely tapestry fabric and some Thai silk... Something that will match the new decor over at the revamped FES. There's some awful flu-like thing racing through my office, and I've finally caught it, thus forcing me to take a day off today. I still have TONS of work to do for my second delegation, but it'll have to wait. I'm envious of them, though - next Friday, they get to take the real, honest-to-god, like-they-did-in-the-old-days (before all those safety restrictions) tour of the Hershey chocolate factory. I used to think about Willy Wonka when I was a kid and we did the old Hershey tour every summer. Cheers from the sick room, Melissa, We have no way of knowing... which direction we are going... Some of you might recall my mentioning of Dolby's performance there in April of 1984 and they are still partial to those great '80's bands. Last week Men At Work performed and sounded absolutely fantastic! It still amazes me that these bands can maintain such a standard even after 17 years have passed since their heyday. No chance of Thomas ever playing there again though as when I mentioned the 1984 performance to him at Plug.In 98 last year he didn't remember the venue even though he fell down twice on stage and said "This is the most ridiculous stage I've ever been on!" Next up at Peabody's-Joan Jett! M.L. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 31 Aug 1999 22:11:52 EDT From: RThurF@aol.com Subject: Re: Alloy: Wonkavision (OT!) (Wonka fans will recall to which contraption this refers) And I love Mr Wonka's creepy little song on the scary boat ride, building into an inhuman shriek - and then a smiling: "We're here!" The candy in that movie looks so good, the way everyone is just stuffing their faces with it makes me want to go out & buy tons and tons of chocolate & eat ALL OF IT. But chocolate in real life could never be as good as the way they make the chocolate look in this film. The craving that sets in is so frustrating!
