I really like the simple "frames" style you're using! As for the "zimmer" thing,....I thought, "okay, now I'll be a clever @rse and identify the thing!" thinking that I could because we always had lots of weird and wonderful instruments lying around at home when I was a kid. But it served me right for thinking I was that smart, because I have absolutely no idea what that thing is,....your suggestions made perfect sense to me, but I guess the thing is to ask the man himself (who, by the way, is out of the office until sometime in August I think.) Keep up the good work!! Well,...back to my packing,....2 weeks before we leave! (Arggghhh!) Congrats on your new appointment! I've been out of touch lately because I was in Italy for a month and a half working on a project there.. (And brushing up on my pasta eating skills..) I just got back yesterday.. and am wading through 151 e-mails. I think yours is number 22.. so I have a bit to go. Glad to hear your job came through.. though!! Ciao for now.. And here I thought my guitar playing days were over. Hmm... London is a bit damp year round.. though isn't it? I think I'll have to pass.. After growing up in Seattle.. I've had enough drizzle to rust my creases.. I find the sunny skies and ocean breezes of Miami Beach much more pleasant.. It all sounds great though.. for your career! But it served me right for thinking I was that smart, because I have absolutely no idea what that thing is :: I've also seen some pretty odd instruments lying around the house in my own childhood, and many more at music festivals & shows we attended... unless this is part of a miniature piano action (minus the hammers & keys) I'm just as lost as you! And the pretty thing he's holding which seems like it could only be some sort of very early, unusual percussion instrument or rattle... I've never seen anything like it anywhere. It would be wonderful to finally learn what it is. It would be wonderfully charitable if Thomas would tell me what it is - though maybe he doesn't want to spoil my quest! :) Perhaps it's something he acquired during one of his trips to someplace exotic? Between that & all the electronic/computer marvels in Thomas' room, I really did find myself ecstatically clinging to the few things I recognized when I first saw that EQ photo shoot - such as the pencils, pens, ruler & scissors, in a little container next to his computer screen - like a little oasis! I even showed them to Dave... "Look.... a pencil!" etc. My poor husband. One correction for my page... in re-reading what I wrote last night I realise I left out a whole crucial section of things I was going to quote from in this interview - in which Thomas is explaining Beatnik. I'm going to be adding more to this & then republish before I make my links. But at least you can look at the pretty pictures for now :) It's what I get for trying to put something together in such a tired state! Though much to my surprise, there was only one misspelled word that I can find this morning. Lissu... best of luck on your relocation!! Could use some cheering up about now. I've had my two sons for two weeks, yet haven't been able to take any time off to spend with them. Can't afford it. Also, my ex husband is talking of moving to Arizona to take a job there and take the boys with them. I don't get to see them enough as it is, it would really break my heart if he succeeds in taking them away from me out of state. Someone could write a soap opera about my life. It can be so full of tragedies and small victories, deceipt and revenge. I also need to trade in my beloved 1986 Ford Escort since it failed the wonderful California smog test miserably. My registration is up. Oh happy day. Anyway, let me know when you are in the area. We'll get together and share all of our different Dolby paraphenalia.LOL. That should be fun. The dress is color black. It is actually two pieces, but know one can tell when your wearing it. The embroidery is satin lace and the design which looks like sequins are actually big roses. It is see through and very thin. If your not careful it can be very revealing. I have to wear black under it. Picture2) The Gala party This dress is the color of Silver Metal and ankle length. It seems to take on what ever color light is shining in the room. For instance I have a picture of when I went to Phantom of the Opera and the dress looks Green Metallic. Another is at a formal party and the dress looks Blue Metallic. The dress has a vee shape and has a Jacket that goes with it. It fits tight around the waist and flares just past the thigh. Since I've had both these dresses I have got alot of compliments. Thanks, because that shows I have pretty good taste in clothes. As for Thomas Dolby. I love his music, and as Jamac said I never knew who the musician was. I do that quit a bit. I like a song but never get the chance to ask who it is. Beyond Jamac's belief I almost knew every song he played for me. Thomas is a great musician and it's so nice to hear that he has so many great fans. By the way I've learned alot more about Thomas than ever before by reading your archives. Very good information. TO: Stephen Tilson and Dr, Mary Brown. I love you both and greatly appreciate what you did for Jamac and I in February. I had a great time. BIG THANKS and a BIG HUG from me.
