The auction ends in about two days. Perhaps we should pool our monies, bid to win, and then make copies for all who wish to participate. Anybody? I had the same problem with my scanned photos for my web page. I'd scan, adjust the contrast just right, save it, put it in the page and view it with IE 4 and the photo's would come out darker! Anybody else have this problem? I'll bet if you download the photos to your PC's and open them up in Paint or something, the contrast will change. It does for me. Oh, and thank you everyone for your wonderful comments on the page. And Lissu, sorry, but I moved that picture and incorporated it in our 'family logo' shot. I hope I didn't ruin any effect that the simple picture had by itself. Any suggestions? ___________ JAMac (Dennis S. The detail at the collar looks very much like sequins in one of the photos. I love embroidery, especially when done on garments, and this must be some very unique work. Could you write me a detail on that so I could forward it to Alloy? (She reads the archives of Alloy as she finds all of you quite fascinating.) Robin, you'll just have to come out here to see it. Maybe we'll get some money together to visit some of you after the wedding but right now, were trying to save up for a house and the wedding. ___________ JAMac (Dennis S. (Folks, ya really can't believe everything you read on the Internet!) While Tilson (spelled with one "l") is a lovely name, it is not mine nor will it be if/when Stephen and I decide to wed. As did TMDR's accomplished wife, I will keep my moniker since I worked too damn hard to get my doctorate and afterwards to allow those publications under my name to be "lost" as they tend to do when one changes one's name. That's a sensitive subject for me (do you know what I mean, Dr. Bingley?) so I hope I haven't offended anyone. My apologies. I did know that you and Stephen were not married, but I'm not sure why I forgot that when I wrote the message announcing the page, and I think I was going to doublecheck the spelling of his last name and just forgot. I think I was too carried away in the moment. (Remeber how Teresa and I were in our own little world at dinner?...) >That said, the page is truly lovely and romantic! Teresa is a wonderful woman and deserves every accolade (and so do you, Dennis!). Well thank you, Doctor. ___________ JAMac (Dennis S. Dear Alloyites, Glad to be back after a frantic episode in my life. I won't bore you with the details, but basically one house deal fell through (We discovered plans to build a mine virtually in the back garden) and the 2nd one which we are now finally in took so long to complete primarily due to the couple we were buying from's concerns that their 2 dogs may become upset if they had to temporarily move into their daughters house 500 yards down the road. Anyway, after commuting for an extra hour to work each day for the last 2 months we've finally arrived. I did send a message to Alloy a few days ago, but it was returned for some reason? Glad to be back on board....Is there any major news I've missed as all my E.Mails have been deleted over this period?
