It's shot into the sun, so it's artistically overexposed, with his face mostly shadowed. (I know how Robin likes to hear about pictures of Thomas, so I thought I'd brighten her day by describing this one. ::grin::) :: Thank you for indulging me, Robyn! The picture sounds lovely..! A little off-topic news for those who've been following my employment misadventures. Everyone else - stop reading!! ::g:: As of two days ago, I'm officially employed as a bookseller at Barnes & Noble, which is expanding to include a music section (this is where I'll fit in, apparently) and cafe. My orientation session is Monday & I'm so happy to be having an actual income soon! All I need now is that archival book restoration job (which will be another few days before I hear back about it) & I'll be ecstatic. Dolby's "12 Plus 12" sounds like it'll be a good thing to spend some of my new earnings on (yay!) And also on the employment front, I finally did hear from my former employer at long last, who is still taking a stance of ignorance of the whole deal we'd arranged. Rather than drag this out in some possibly time-consuming & costly way, I would prefer to end it now so I don't need to have anything more to do with her ever, after this whole nightmare she's caused me. They _have_ asked me if I could continue doing bits of work here & there for them in spite of it all. Hmm, lets see. Keep working for someone who's just lied to me, denied me my pay for an entire month, pulled the rug out from under me on what they'd promised would be a sure deal, stabbed me in the back, called me a liar when I confronted them with the situation, slandered my work, and then implied I'd stolen cello set up tools from their shop? Gee, I'll have to think it over... :D I have already wasted more than enough time being nice to people who only end up treating me like crap, haven't I! My former employer will therefore get a lovely letter explaining exactly why I can no longer associate myself with her shop, in polite, professional terms of course. Meanwhile, I intend to continue making instruments on my own (you may get one of my fiddles yet, Lissu! How's yours holding up?) Sorry about the off-topic mini jaunt - but thanks for listening :) I now return you to AllThingsDolby (tm)... Is this new 12x12 cd another name for the Hyperactive double cd TBlagg spoke of in March? I just ordered that one from Amazon.com, though it did not come yet. And I also won the two Hyperactive cd's (1994) on ebay recently....though that hasn't come in the mail either. I paid around $55 for it, but who cares, I have been lusting for One of Our Submarines (extended) on CD for years. It has become an obsession. I guess my question is, do I also buy the 12x12? I know this sounds foolish, but it is 4:30am and the 3 track lists are all swirling before my eyes. I have lost the ability to tell them apart. And I'd hate to miss out on a 12 inch :) >>>Jon ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 18 Jul 1999 20:00:36 -0600 From: Ernie Longmire/Lazlo Nibble Subject: Alloy: Discog Update... I've updated my TMDR discography: If there have been recent posts to the list about the upcoming 12x12 compilation I'm afraid I've missed 'em -- if anyone has a tracklist can you forward it? Spielberg was the director of the movie. I'm sure Thomas got an advanced copy of script so that he could write the music and lyrics of the title song for that movie. It doesn't make sense to write a movie's title song if the songwriter doesn't know what the movie is about! ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 18 Jul 1999 23:38:55 -0400 From: "L.L Frattarola" Subject: Alloy: Beatnik Question Hello Everyone! I've been working on my pages and I've run into an interesting problem and I wondering if any one here on the list has also run into this or has any imput that could help. I have the Beatnik player installed on all of my pages. Sometimes the sounds will not load but if I right click and go to help and load the help page most of the time then the sound will load. My hubby and I are wondering about this. Any ideas? Thanks !!
