[RThurF@aol.com] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Thu, 15 Jul 1999 00:17:18 EDT From: RThurF@aol.com Subject: Alloy: OT greetings from the abyss.. I'm very sorry to have been disconnected lately & I promise to return phone calls & reply to emails soon. I'm very actively trying to become an employed person while at the same time, trying to figure out how to handle this apparently deceased verbal contract with my former employer. This woman, who is the one who insisted I work for her long-distance in the first place & whom I trusted at her word, now seems to be trying to pretend I don't exist. I've written her two emails & left her a voice mail message over the past week and a half & she hasn't responded to any of them. All of her promises have vaporized, but I still have a lot of equipment and tools which I now cannot afford to make payments on thanks to our cancelled deal. The situation is ridiculous. It's sad to see this former business associate of mine reveal herself as not being honorable enough to even help me sort out this mess I now find myself in because of her. And I'm asking for far less than what most people might! I just want to close this out, return the tools and equipment, and be assured that I will still be given a good professional referrence in spite of our awkward parting of ways. To tell you the truth, her recent behavior is so very bizarre and irrational, that I am afraid there might even be something wrong with her. Apart from which, her husband still has my husband's skull (we lent him Dave's human skull to do anatomical sketches for his paintings) which we need to get back. I really don't want this whole situation to end up in court somewhere down the line but if it does, all of this is going to sound very weird... :) I just saw the 'Behind the Music' on VH1 about Jerry Garcia. Mr Garcia also happens to have been a close personal friend of this former employer of mine with whom I'm having this strange disagreement, which made for an odd connection to current events in my own life. The whole show made me very sad overall. Anyhow, that's where I've been lately. I'm waiting to hear back about all these jobs I've applied to, waiting on my former employer... There is nothing I hate more than being put in a position of having to sit around waiting for things!! I'm keeping sane by burying myself in creative projects. Perhaps this would be a good time to do that impending Dolby/Clinton section of my page. Seeing those two is bound to cheer me up. The next time you hear from me, it will be with GOOD news, I promise... Robin T ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V4 #194 ***************************
