And I think I may need a lawyer! The check *never* arrived today (I phoned 
her, she said she told her accountant to cut the check but then 'forgot about 
it' and doesn't know whether it was mailed or not... and nobody can be 
reached to find out) whereupon I reminded her that she'd told me I'd be 
earning at least as much as I always had, and here I am after an entire month 
without a dime of income whatsoever. Not only are the rent, car and utilities 
due, but I was supposed to pick up a vital asthma med on friday which because 
of her negligence i couldn't afford, and I'm all out till 'whenever' it is I 
get paid. Also, according to them my work is falling sub-par, strange that 
after working there for three years & having them insist I stay on with them 
long-distance when I moved away, suddenly this month my work isn't good 
enough. And, if it were so, then why wait four weeks to mention it to me?

She suggested I come to Boston for a meeting with the entire staff about my 
work in July. I really don't think I should give them one minute more of my 
time apart from sending the rest of their stuff back untouched.

Dear Alloy,

I've been listening to NEO recently and have noticed numerous melodic 
references to The Flat Earth in the first two minutes of that track.  
Don't know how I missed that earlier . . .  Additionally, upon 
carefully listening to Dr. Terenzi's voice over, specifically: 
"...wash-e out d'they're pale light.", I can understand why Lord 
Stemish might be, erm, somewhat enamored with her.  God, she has a 
sexy voice!

PPS   Melissa, glad to hear you've put wax in your ears and tied 
      yourself to the mast.  I won't bother mentioning the "*Revenge* 
      of the Jedi" poster (one of only 50 copies in existence) or 
      David Prowse's LightSabre that are for sale somewhere in a 
      galaxy not far away . . . <evil grin>

PPPS  Mary and I enjoy the privilege of living but a few short miles 
      from Skywalker Ranch, and as such are able to attend the "Corte 
      Madera Cinema": the flagship theater for Lucasfilms and THX 
      sound.  I went there last week to see The Phantom Menace for 
      the second time.  The film was flawless, causing me to wonder 
      (after it was too late to ask) if this is also one of the three 
      theaters that is using the new digital projection system.  
      Likely.  I'll be going again (Mary hasn't seen it yet) and will 
      ask.  Further, the sound was even more perfect than my first 
      viewing at the Coronet in SF.  Hey, Brian, want to meet us in 
      CM for another viewing some not-too-distant weekend hence?
