If we do do this for Thomas's birthday this year, it will make a nice present plus it will give Monya a chance to either re-record her version of Cruel, or if she doesn't mind, I've had some ideas how I might be able to fix it up a bit and then resubmit it for AAMBC. Then october 2000 will be the release of Project B-Day III. ... ... Anyways, let's call this proposal (dealying PBD-III until next year, and re-issuing a CD of PBD-I this year possibly with Robin's PBD: The Book) "Project B-Day: Deja Vu". :: I love crackers' idea of the re-issue on cd. It would make a really nice present & would doubtlessly be completed on time for this October. Count me in as a 'yes' ! But, I'm afraid it hadn't even occured to me to ever propose another book project (having gotten almost no participation for the last one) and now my schedule won't allow for it... I'm snowed under with work for the rest of the year. I'm really sorry! If someone else would like to do a book then please do... otherwise I think the cd would make a wonderful & very thoughtful gift on its own. I could make a CD and re-format the artwork as I did for Flattery. (did I just say that? - I guess I did). I'm still in practice. Actually, I made myself a CD from my tape copy, and although not as nice sounding as a good master, definitely more convenient to listen to. So I'm up for it if someone gets me the master. - -Keith - ----- Original Message ----- From: Chris Cracknell To: Sent: Friday, May 14, 1999 12:21 PM Subject: Alloy: Proposal "Project B-day: Deja Vu" > > In article <199905140856065@lem.zdnetmail.co.uk>, you wrote: > > >Personally, I threw in October 2000 as a bit of a joke - it seems like an > >awfully long time from now. Hi it's me again, 1) Cracker's, I love You! I just had to let it Out in the open! I really do! BUT... I don't wear polo shirts (unless that pipe was really stuffed; if you know what I mean ) And BTW what's this Perry Como stuff? I thought you said CTD's?? I am hurt! ;) 2) You guys like me! You really like me! (sorry, a Sally fields moment there) Thanks for the ton of welcomes! Now for those of you who don't know me, the following will be a quick synopsis of my life since I joined Alloy the first time. Ready? Feel free to ask questions at the end of the presentation (hee hee). anyone, anyone - ----->>>>> Beuller? So.... 1997 (summer) got onto Alloy via Headspace site! Was going to school for Music Business etc. Shortly later someone hinted at the idea of putting together B-day I proj. and I jumped all over it. (see what I started?) November 1997- lost my mom! This was the worst event in my life EVER! It effected me profoundly and made me almost hermit-like for over 6 months! Mother's day 1998 I did a radio show at the University (some one called me two hours before my own show and asked me to start one hour early). In one hour I found music poetry and quotes all pertaining to MOMS! The show was brilliant or so I felt! I had a dream that night where my Mother came and spoke to me about her new state of existence, since then I have been the typical type A virgo and bustin' ass to getinvolved with music. March 1998, Got married!! Heidi is her name... Writing is her game! She's beautiful, Brilliant and like's me (always a bonus when marrying someone!) Heidi LET me organize 80% of the wedding, she did 80% of the cleaning after (I made my own wine for the wedding and WOW was it tasty! Unfortunately on the day after...) The ceremony took place with everyone in a circle (no chairs) we had 4 "quarter candles" held by genuine "witches". A wiccan priest invoked an "egg" of protective energy and left the circle to let the JP do her thang! The JP was named Gladys Yokum (78 years old- really sweet). She read some Kalil Ghibran verses that made both Heidi and I cry. Very nice! Heidi's Witness, Anne, snag as we enterd the circle. It was a song she and Heidi wrote and a big surprise for me! I loved it! Adam Miner, a song writer form my old home town of Sarnia, sang during the signings. After the "egg" of protection was released we popped the champagne (Heidi's dad bought it as a surprise) Later that night we had 4 other singer/songwriter's perform! All were very professional and made it a very special night. I got up and performed a spoof on the Macarena/Bird dance, that I wrote entiltled "The Chicken-psycho Boogie" and to my surprise had EVERYONE in the room sing the chorus "let's do the chicken psycho boogie Let's do the chicken psycho dance let's do the chicken psycho boogie And it's way more fun if you don't wear pants" I couldn't believe that they still wanted me as their 'in-law' :) In the last year and a half I have >>been a radio host >>produced a radio play (that heidi wrote and voiced) >>produced a documentary for radio on a folk festival's 25th anniversary >>recorded my bday ii song and greetings >>done various writing and recording of my own music >>Organized a weekly showcase of Singer/songwriter's at a pub in London >>(ontario) >>Promoted a folk concert that saw heavy press coverage and 70% ticket sales >>I work P/T for a courier service >>Have been named assistant to the artistic director of a folk festival >>board. >>have recorded a few independant local artists in various settings/ studios >>Have accrued more debt!! whew!! Is that enough or what? I am exhausted typing it! I am 29 soon to be 29+ (hah) in sept (10th) I have a dog, 2 bunnies and a lovebird. I haven't bought anymore than 4 cd's in 2 years but my collection has tripled!! I am also a guitarist who is finally getting somewhat okay at it. As far as dreams go, I want to meet TMDR, Rufus Wainwright and Steven and Mary! I want to get a new 6 string as my current axe is a 12er strung with 6 (yamaha). I want to retire to a vinyard and drink wine for the rest of my days. I want to start a number of community groups and get people singing every where they go. I want to Love and be LOved. I want to live and let live. I want Crackers to be honest about his feelings for me and I wanna ROCK!! phew that's It! Any question's? lot's of Love Ian Ian Gifford Singer/Songwriter, Radio show host. Sundays 12am till 2am (est) http://www.chrw.fm.net mailto:igifford@hotmail.com "All music is folk music.
