Just my luck - I'd taped the previous week's show, but as I hadn't had time to watch it yet I didn't bother recording the one I'd have wanted more :-) However... I have a friend who did... and who let me watch it last night... and he's got a PC... with a capture card... I have still frames for your enjoyment! These JPGs will appear on my site in a day or two. If anyone can't wait (Robin?) I'd be happy to e-mail them. The total transfer would be in the region of 1Mb though. Thomas looks quite terrible in some shots, sorry Robin! (This may reduce my chances of ever receiving pleasant e-mail from him even further). I admire the guy's sense of fun, and the complete average-ness of the house. He's got his feet on the ground still, for sure. It was interesting to see TMDR's UK retreat by the seaside, next to Shingle Street (a shingly beach) with some gorgeous old vintage electrical stuff. The perusal of his record collection was predictably embarrasing (I'd cringe mightily if anyone did that to me) but the highlights were the Tom-foolery (ouch) involving Mr.D pretending to be a ventriloquist's dummy, and when he pretended to be playing a little plastic guitar. Nice cap. Take care y'all... +Andy+ - ---------------------------------------------------------------- Get your free email from AltaVista at http://altavista.iname.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 May 1999 09:40:21 EDT From: RThurF@aol.com Subject: Re: Alloy: Thomas on UK TV In a message dated 5/6/99 5:45:49 AM Eastern Daylight Time, andyjmail@cheerful.com writes: :: These JPGs will appear on my site in a day or two. Thanks for the offer!! ::It was interesting to see TMDR's UK retreat by the seaside:: ::with some gorgeous old vintage electrical stuff. :: This sounds amazingly cool! Are some of the vintage gadgets in your stills somewhere? Mr Dolby might feel very much at home at my place, amid my vintage portraits, keys, clothing, toys, etc (this isn't me hitting on Dolby, honest! :) I'm just glad to know he loves these old electronic gadgets. They are really such characters. I love things that people created for daily use - they always reflected the personalities and even sometimes the appearance of their makers. And you mustn't worry if some of the pictures are 'unflattering'. Thomas can look however he likes and I'll still be drawn to him. To be very honest, for me to be attracted to someone always means there's far more to him than simply heart-wrenchingly good looks. Please tell us when the photos are up, Andy!! I especially loved Thomas' enthusiastic "salute" at the end (wish I had a poster of that one :) Robin T ------------------------------ End of alloy-digest V4 #135 ***************************
